BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

It’s been 11 months since I began working on this project.

It all started when Quon Solo challenged me to start putting my music back out and getting back on stage. I made him a promise, and ever since, I’ve been doing everything I can to keep my word.

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t have made it to this moment without my incredible support system—FiF Gneration, my mom, my family, and my friends. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, and reminding me why I started.

On August 7, that promise becomes public.

It’s time to Put That Sh!t Out.

For the last 6–9 months I’ve been building a full body of work called “Put That Sh!t Out.”

For a long time I held back my music out of fear of rejection… but art isn’t meant to sit on hard drives.

So this year I made a decision: put that sh!t out.

First single drops 3.17.
Pre-save now. 🎧

Oooh my goodness 🤍 Where do I start?! This birthday was beyond special to me. I smiled, laughed, cried, & so much more. 🥲 I was completely overjoyed with & surrounded by love. I could go into extreme detail about all that my AMAZING sister @honeybee9asaurus planned for me, but instead I’ll merely say… You just had to be there to fully understand. From handmade custom menus, to a surprisingly amazing video about my loved ones. This birthday was definitely one for the books.

Cheers to 30 years!!! 🥹

I often say colourism is complicated. In fact, it’s the very first line of my book! Because although women often bear the brunt of colourism, with men sometimes serving as its perpetrators, it’s important to acknowledge that men can also be victims of this phenomenon.

Within this community, there are also men who recognise the dichotomy, understand the damaging impact on women, and are here to be part of the change. This post is to celebrate those men whose unwavering support is playing a crucial role in the ongoing fight against colourism!

This isn’t a shameless plug on the book (well, maybe a little!). It’s to highlight how many men are doing the work, too.

A big shout out to:

- Matt Schaefer for believing in me & inviting me to his podcast. This was my very first podcast ever!
- Dr Varun Gandhi @drvarungandhi for my very 1st live & YT interview!
- Jonah Batambuze from @blindianproject for being one of my biggest role models & supporting my work ever since I started my journey.
- Phillip Scott from @africandiasporanews for helping me reach the Black community with an interview on his YT channel that has 1.6 million subscribers and for giving The Black Rose a big shout.
- Marcus Cage
@marcusjcage for a very emotional and deep interview on his YT channel.
- Nihal Arthanayake @therealnihal for having me on his show on BBC 5 Live. This was truly an honour given his repertoire of interviewees usually includes celebrities!
- Amit Trivedi for recommending me as a speaker to his company, Man Group, after reading the book!
- Yash, Moez (do tune in to @inthelifeofbrown voice note in this post), Craig, Brent, Geron, Bryn, Clarencio and so many more who understand the role social media engagement plays in spreading messages. I enjoy chatting on DMs with you and exchanging perspectives. Thank you for reading the book and spreading the message 🙏🏾

Apologies again in advance if I have missed mentioning anyone here…I blame peri-menopause brain fog!

Massive thank you again to you all!

This is beyond late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a real one @geron000 !!! As one of my close friends you all may recognize him from an old video I’ve posted. (I shared the old video to my story if you haven’t seem it yet) He turned 34 & I must say that I have truly enjoyed getting to know this man over the past 4-5 years. Genuine, accepting, & kind hearted are just a few adjectives to describe him. May God bless you with many more years to come.
Cheers 🥂
