Sometimes missing you, is just a quiet shadow in the light, a name left unspoken somewhere between my thoughts.

And somewhere between yesterday and
tomorrow, a piece of you is missing - not loud,
not visible, just a little more each day.

ANNOUNCEMENT 30/09/2026 CET 12PM.

A serious approach to pastel art requires a serious arsenal... well, or maybe I’m just a paper hoarder! 🤷‍♂️🎨

In my studio, I have 12 out of the 14 existing colors of these large Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet sheets, sized 50x65 cm (20x26 inches). Standard pads are simply too small for me, so I buy these huge sheets in packs of 10. The biggest plus of this format? Absolute freedom — you can choose and cut your own perfect sizes for any landscape.

If you look closely at the captions under my Reels, you might have noticed that this paper hasn’t been my only choice lately. I’ve been actively experimenting with other premium surfaces. Yet, Velvet remains my great love. Each sheet is a ready-made tonal map and a mood in itself: noble grays for crisp, misty air, deep wine for wild grasses, or warm ochres to ignite the light.

I’ve already clearly defined my preferences. I have my favorite shades, each helping to solve specific creative tasks, because the color of the paper here is a true co-creator that subtly weaves into the artwork. And, of course, among them is one absolute tonal favorite, on which Terry Ludwig, Sennelier and Girault pastels light up in a truly magical way. I’ll share more about it a bit later! 😉✨

I wonder if anyone can guess my absolute favorite shade right now from the video? Let’s see who gets it right!

Have you guys tried large sheets of Canson Velvet yourself? Do you let the color of the surface peek through the layers, or do you cover the background completely? Let’s talk in the comments! 🙌👨🏻‍🎨
