📣 Concert Announcement

09.10. 20:00 in Lutherkirche, Cologne

In one week, I’ll have the pleasure of performing at Lutherkirche Köln — and this concert is a very special one for me.

Lutherkirche has long been one of Cologne’s most important stages for global music, and ever since I arrived in Cologne back in 2012, I’ve dreamed of singing there one day.

Now, 14 years later, it’s happening. ❤️

Together with my talented musicians, we’ll be bringing our contemporary world music with Greek roots to the Lutherkirche stage — music that carries Greek tradition into a modern sound world.

Joining me:
Gert Kapo @gert_kapo • keys
Philipp Köbele @philippkoebele • guitars
Jonas Bareiter @jonasbareiter • bass
Sebastian Bauer @sebastianbauerdrums • drums

I can’t wait to share this special evening with you.

See you at Lutherkirche!

Filiá,
Fevronía

Our closing night brought together everything this festival has been about: cinema, music, stories and community.

We shared our final screenings with 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀, 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽, 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 and 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, and welcomed 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗼 @gert_kapo for a special live piano performance that made our closing night even more memorable. 🎶

Four days filled with films, conversations, music, art, literature and so many people coming together to experience Albanian stories on the big screen.

A huge thank you to all the filmmakers, artists and guests who shared their work with us, to @filmhauskoeln for giving our festival a home, and to everyone behind the scenes who gave their time and energy to make these four days possible. A special thank you also to our volunteers and friends who supported us throughout the festival. 🫶

And most of all, thank you to 𝗬𝗢𝗨, our audience. Thank you for showing up, filling the cinema, asking questions, starting conversations and sharing this first edition with us.

For our very first Albanian Film Festival Köln, we couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful beginning.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗞ö𝗹𝗻.
Until we meet again at the movies. 🎬

We are delighted to welcome 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗼 (@gert_kapo ) for a special 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 as part of the Closing Night of the Albanian Film Festival Köln, before our final screenings of 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 and 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸.

A pianist, composer, arranger, and producer of Albanian heritage, Gert Kapo has made Cologne his home for many years. A musical prodigy from an early age, he performed as a soloist with the Albanian State Symphony Orchestra and received numerous awards at national and international piano competitions. Following his move to Germany, he pursued classical piano studies at the University of Music and Dance Cologne.

Rooted in the musical traditions of Albania and the Balkans, his artistic work brings together elements of jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms and Afro-American musical expression. As a producer and collaborator, he has contributed to projects such as 𝗧𝗼𝗸𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮 by Albanian jazz vocalist Eda Zari and has worked alongside internationally renowned artists including Rhani Krija and Dominic Miller.

With his project and album 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗧, Gert Kapo creates a deeply personal musical language that balances heritage and innovation, carrying memories, stories and cultural traditions across generations.

Join us for a 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗼 as we celebrate the Closing Night of the first Albanian Film Festival Köln. ❤️🎬
