Hope was in Action this past weekend at Missions Filled’s 2nd Annual Volunteer Fair! Event co-host, Sheri Jones did a fabulous job (as always). Missions Filled board member (and all around model citizen), Paul Schmidt, served as one of three business pitch competition judges. A resounding congratulations to our friend and Voices of Color catalyst, Tanesha Ash-Shakoor, who was voted this year’s Community Champion! You can hear her amazing story in this month’s episode of Hope In Action, where we highlight impactful stories of victory after experiencing violence. Tune in, subscribe, binge, and like all of the activity on our YouTube channel! Last but absolutely not least- Congratulations to Adam Williams! You’ll always be one of our highly-cherished community champions. Thank you for all that you do 👏👏👏

Who is someone you feel is a Community Champion in our city? In honor of the upcoming Community Champion Volunteer Fair at Lansing Mall on October 17, I'd like to take this time to acknowledge a champion in our community - @theanthonyduane! As we get closer to the event on the 17th where a local organization will win its $3000 pitch contest (missionsfilled.org), I want to acknowledge some of the champions from our surroundings who make a positive impact on lives in the 517 daily. Share the name and organization of someone you feel is a Community Champion. I might pay them a special championship visit! Photo by @thisent1
