EID al-FITR

On this Eid, surrounded by friends who feel like family, our hearts are torn between gratitude and longing. We’re so thankful for the love and moments we share here, but the emptiness of being far from home and those we hold dear is a weight that doesn’t lift. Eid brings joy, but also a quiet sadness, missing the warmth of those we can’t be with.

Eid Mubarak

Kedua kalinya memasuki tahun ketiga merayakan Hari Raya di perantauan. Tak ada tangis yang pecah karena sudah habis diterpa ujian kehidupan yang berlalu lalang. Kiat patut bersyukur karena menjadi keluarga kedua yang mungkin tak sempurna, dengan segala tawa, marah, sedih, kebencian, dan rasa kesal yang sering datang dan pergi, namun tetap bertahan bersama. Meskipun terkadang toxic dan membuat luka yang tak selalu terlihat, pada akhirnya kita tetap memilih untuk bersama. Jika bukan dengan kalian, siapa lagi yang akan menemani perjalanan ini? Terima kasih, telah bersama dalam setiap langkah dan perjuangan. Rindu pada keluarga yang jauh takkan pernah hilang, namun dengan kalian, ada secercah harapan di tengah kesepian ini. Mari kita rayakan bersama, meski di hati, ada kepedihan yang tak bisa sepenuhnya terungkap.

Christmas—that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance—a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.

I’m grateful to have a friends like you. I’m grateful that God brought us together in this country. I feel the beauty of the hardship and joy of living in this distant country with you. We are great, we deserve to be proud of having spent almost 2 more years living here. Whatever we go through along this journey, take the wisdom for you to be stronger and grow. Remember you’re not alone. We are still here, ready to help entertain and encourage you.
