Personal finance isn’t glamorous. It’s a month-end money check, a cash ISA and a pension box you’ve never found. It’s also what holds everything else up.
Here’s what the women at our table said to start with. Split what comes in into needs, wants and future. Keep six to twelve months of spending in a cash ISA, and go with what feels comfortable for you. Automate your credit card payments and pay in full. Pick one day a year to look at your savings and pensions (we’re calling it Scrooge day), and find the little box that sends your future contributions into the funds you chose. Check your state pension and National Insurance record in the HMRC app while you’re there. Earning into the 40% band? Claim the extra pension tax relief back from HMRC. It’s your money.
And if you don’t challenge your adviser because you feel you lack the education, that’s a reason to learn more, not to stay quiet.

The work isn’t failing you. You’re just half-assing it. 👀

I heard @thetracylitt say this on a call and it made me pause.

Because I started thinking about all the times I’ve said something didn’t work.

But then I had to ask myself a more honest question.

Did it actually not work… or did I not fully commit?

It’s uncomfortable to admit, but I can see places in my own life where I say I want something to change, yet my actions don’t fully match that.

And that’s the part people don’t love talking about.

Signing up for things is easy. Being devoted to the work is different.

So before you jump into the next program, plan, or promise to yourself… ask honestly:

Are you ready to commit this time? 🔥 Or are you about to half-ass it again?
