![[New Pick Up]
This time’s twin date comes with a new addition to the collection. I finally checked out a medium wallet from Siege Leather, complete with a knuckle chain to give it that extra rugged touch.
The wallet features a rugged design with the option to add a swivel ring for attaching the chain, or leave it off for a cleaner, more understated look. Made from natural-tanned leather with brown accents, it comes with a custom concho bearing the Siege Leather logo. There are plenty of card slots, plus an extra compartment that I personally use to keep my motorcycle registration papers (STNK). Great design, solid finishing, and no issues at all. Really Worth!
This isn’t my first attempt at replacing my old wallet. The one on the left is a custom piece made by my friend, Pak Ghusan @ghusansan , crafted from Vachetta leather by Kasin Leather, one of Indonesia’s renowned local tanneries back in the day. I wonder where they are now.
Since that wallet was made six years ago, I’ve tried replacing it three times. The previous two replacements eventually found new homes with friends, simply because they never felt quite right for me. This time, I decided to pair the Siege Leather wallet with Pak Ghusan’s handmade piece instead.
And once again, the wallet replacement mission has failed. 😂
The Pak Ghusan wallet refuses to retire. It will continue carrying my cash and purchase receipts whenever things get a little too crowded, while the Siege Leather wallet takes on the role of my daily beater.
Let’s see how it ages. Hopefully, it develops a beautiful patina over time, shaped by everyday use and a little bit of abuse.
Some things are just too good to let go.
