November — a month of hellos and goodbyes… tears and laughter… but at the heart of it all, it was about family and love. This month gave me the grounding and healing I truly needed for this next chapter.

On November 12th, my beautiful aunt Nina (aka DA BOSS) joined the ancestors on the other side. She fought the good fight and left behind a mark on our hearts that can never be replicated. On November 19th, she was laid to rest in our family cemetery with a bed of pink roses lining her vault.

Then a few days later, I celebrated my 32nd birthday surrounded with so much love and joy PLUS… not one, not two, but THREE cakes to make wishes on 🤪 I couldn’t have asked for a better celebration of life for the both of us.

Every single memory shared of Nina had everyone doubled over in laughter as we reconciled with the fact that she gave the very best parts of herself to her family. The joy she brought us in this life comforted us as we prepared for a life without our Piscean Queen. I was my auntie’s baby through and through. She kicked off my Lisa Frank obsession in elementary school, introduced me to fashion + makeup and was my fiercest protector and supporter. A true testament to living life unapologetically, I will love her endlessly and will forever be grateful to my mommy’s first baby sister. My spirit team just got a premium upgrade! Until we meet again 💗👼🏾🪽

Skate culture and art have always moved side by side. Both are bold, expressive, and rebellious. While some may not see skating as art, we know better. It is art in motion.

In our journey to build deeper bonds with the art community, we teamed up with the incredible @cripplepunkpossum for this symbolic piece that captures the harmony between skating and artistic expression. Major shoutout to @cripplepunkpossum for bringing this vision to life!

Special thanks to @lucid_ink_printing for printing these rad shirts!

Yesterday’s Check-In was so good! Thank you to everyone that pulled up to @theheightsjxn, there were a lot of good ideas, affirmations and free game shared. It felt good to just connect. We appreciate you for creating this space with us 🤎

Maybe another event came out of this one 🤭 excited to see where even our new opportunities to collaborate go. See y’all at the next Check-In! #SippTalk

The Check-In is a creative space for Jackson artists to connect with like minded creatives, share ideas, find collaborators and have creative accountability.
