Solstice: Thresholds of Light and Memory
Curated by Kristiann Syre & Vanessa Sequerth
June 20 — August 22
Last Saturday marked the closing reception for Solstice: Thresholds of Light and Memory, curated by Kristiann Syre and Vanessa Sequerth. The exhibition featured twenty-five talented artists and photographers from Long Beach City College: Yasmina Ahmed, Anna Azarov, Ivonne Sanchez-Bucio, Dahlia Chagoya, Galylea Cortez, Skylar Dose, Parker Ellertson, Nuvia Forkan, Glenn Hall, Taylor Johnson, Hannah Justesen, Jordan Lalo, Chris Lee, Matt Mageno, Braulio Martinez, Steven Molina, Tien Nguyen, Joshua Paras, Kamelia Sadeghi, Gia Francesca Salisbury, Deidre Schletter-Fennie, Matthew Segotta, Melissa Stottlemyer, Louie Valentine, and Mary Warner.
The Icehouse Arts Complex is immensely proud of the curatorial vision and dedication Kris and Vanessa demonstrated throughout this inaugural project. Spanning narrative photography, painting, mixed media, and sculpture, the featured works showcased the exceptional creative energy coming out of LBCC.
Though the exhibition has closed, its creative spirit and collaborative momentum continue to resonate. Warmest congratulations to everyone involved!

Special thank you to all of the beautiful musicians who created such a wonderful soundscape for this evening, as well as all of the amazing vendors who brought us pies and burgers, and so many other goodies!

We are nothing without each other, and what better way to be together than through music? ♥️🌞

See you next bash!🐛🐛

The Cave, in its entirety, is out now.

This collection of songs was written over a short period of time back in January of 2025 and recorded this past Fall. To see these tunes officially out in the world today is really something special. This EP is dedicated to all of the women in my life and around the world who have had their basic rights threatened or taken away.

Thank you so much to those who have taken the time to listen to my songs this year and follow along with this progression. I am so grateful to be surrounded by friends, family, and a community that believes in music. Huge thank you to the band and everyone who made this project possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to @gialise who took these beautiful photos and captured the feeling of these songs through film!!🦋💌🩵

Come celebrate with us at @desertfivespotla w @softspotsongwriters TONIGHT (May 12th), with @pappadmusic and @tinangelband for my official release show!! 8 PM! FREE!! If you’d like more insight to these tunes, I will be selling zines of the release where you can read about the songs and look at pictures taken throughout the recording process, as well as follow along with the lyrics.🪩🪩⭐️⭐️
