Ci sono momenti dell’anno in cui Ortigia cambia ritmo. Le giornate rallentano, le strade si fanno più silenziose e il mare torna a essere il vero protagonista. È in questo tempo più lento che abbiamo scelto di ritrovarci. Dal 28 ottobre al 4 novembre la pratica seguirà il respiro dell’isola. Il tuo retreat può durare quanto vuoi tu. Due lezioni al giorno con Marzia e Gianna Purcell, una sala calda affacciata sul mare e tutto il tempo per vivere la Sicilia senza fretta. Saremo ospiti dello splendido Minareto Hotel, immerso nella Riserva Naturale del Plemmirio e affacciato di fronte all’isola di Ortigia. Tra una pratica e l’altra ci saranno colazioni condivise, momenti di relax, una spiaggia privata di sabbia, terrazze di roccia da cui tuffarsi nelle acque cristalline della riserva, idromassaggi vista mare al tramonto e la libertà di scegliere come vivere ogni giornata. Potrai condividere il tempo con il gruppo oppure ritagliarti i tuoi spazi, passeggiare tra i vicoli di Ortigia, visitare Noto o Marzamemi, scoprire i sapori della cucina siciliana o semplicemente fermarti ad ascoltare il mare. Durante il retreat sarà presente anche il gruppo americano che arriverà insieme a Gianna: un’occasione speciale per praticare e condividere questa esperienza con una comunità internazionale. Another year around the sun, thats like 4.4 big dog years 🌞 Ive met so many amazing people doing popups over the last year I wish I could remember every conversation and face but my brain doesnt work good. I feel like the last year’s been blur of (too much) working, loving on my little fam, and a constant state of moving my apartment & shop. If I have to maneuver another couch through a doorway though I’m done. Im so thankful though to the homies that supported me and my biz and turned me on to their peeps this year. I literally owe you my life. But goddamn do I owe so much to my lovely girlfriend who’s helped me so much with my business over the last year. Behind every great man is a greater woman. And goddamn so many big and small banger collaborations this year too that seemed to materialize out of nowhere. All beautiful souls with my sense of humor. If you rocked some FTP shiet this year send me a pic! You know I love to see it ❣️

What an amazing summer✨ We are filled with so much gratitude, excitement, and honor to have hosted teacher training at our studio this year! We couldn’t be more proud of each and every student who showed up with such dedication, curiosity, resilience, and heart. Teacher appreciation post! It’s been about two years since I got my 200 hour yoga teacher certification in India with @giannayoga 🤯 I was practicing yoga for 14 years before I decided to get certified. I really wasn’t sure if I should do it. They say when the student is ready, the teacher appears, and that’s really how I felt the first time I took Gianna’s class in my home studio in Tucson, yoga oasis. I knew immediately, after one class, that she was the woman I needed to learn from. She introduced me to nerve glides, myofascial release, functional range conditioning, and clearly took understanding the truth of the roots of yoga seriously. I wanted to learn from a woman, I wanted her to have an advanced understanding of body mechanics, and I wanted to learn in India from someone who really took the history and ancient philosophy of this wisdom tradition seriously, and Gianna was that. Gianna understands and respects yoga at such a profoundly deep level. I have so much admiration for her devotion to the practice and her unshakable authenticity. She is the realest. I’ve shifted most of my work towards mobility and flexibility lately because I’m still not 100% sure what it means to be a yoga teacher and how to show up as one. I’m only teaching 3 yoga classes a week now. What I took away from my training with Gianna is that I think a big part of what it means to be a yoga teacher is to guide people into a deeper relationship with themselves. To help people get interested in what’s going on inside of us - on a physical level and also the more subtle energetic and spiritual levels of us. I am so grateful that I happened to cross paths with such a phenomenal teacher. Thank you <3

Find the deeper parts of you that need attention physically, mentally, and spiritually through asana, pranayama, mudra, and meditation and create the necessary changes you may need to ease you into the cooler season to come.​ ​​About Gianna: I started practicing yoga to heal my back and joint pain, but continue practicing for ever-evolving reasons. Though I started as an asana fiend, I am currently driven by how well we allow yoga to meet us where we are and receive what it is we need. I moved to India to study for 2009, completed Bikram training in 2010, vinyasa and yin training with the Yandara Institute in 2015, Ashtanga training in Mysore in 2016, I have been studying Hatha practices with the Bihar School since 2012, and am currently getting my bachelors in Ayurveda from the Maharishi International University. I am a real nerd for this stuff but am also an end-of-life doula, drummer in a band, and cat mom.
