In honor of the 15th anniversary of The Truth is... I dug up some photos from the archive of my early days touring with Major League. August 2011 we went on one of the hardest tours of my life. Trying to survive the heat of deep summer in the American South. We would use the money from playing a show to get to the next one. I was shaking promoters down for pocket change. In Orlando, our tour mates in Carousel Kings van broke down and we stayed behind with them until they could get back on track. I ended up booking our way home hopping on shows with Crucial Dudes and putting my last $20 into the gas tank to get us to Virginia. We played a show with a very early version of Turnover in Roanoke which made us enough money to get the rest of the way home. I was shooting with a Canonet Q-17 that had light leak and an Olympus Zoom I found in the trash that always said it was 1995 on Kodak Ektar and Superia 400. I don't miss sleeping in a van in a Wal Mart parking lot in 100 degree heat but I'll never forget it.

Words can’t describe how I feel when I watch this. Literally a wave full of emotion living through this again. @giantsatlarge was my baby starting it with @mattlags and @_travismcgee on a golf course in Florida. I cried a lot this night. Feels good to see this again and what it used to be like before this pandemic. Watching this just further motivates me to continue music. I miss you all, I miss drumming live, support our home @amityvillemusichall . There’s some 10 year anniversaries approaching 🤔🤔 *cough cough @majorleaguenj* 🎥: @jamesmorano #giantsatlarge #music #drums #drumming #livetogig #amityvillemusichall #AMH

It’s insanely hard to believe the news I heard today. I’m absolutely shook, I’m numb, my sick brain is still telling myself that it’s a joke. I’ve been on the phone with all my brothers the past hour tearing up. @1mikedavis1 I can honestly write a novel of all the fun and incredible times we had together with @giantsatlarge @westilldream /crazy things we did. You were one of my brothers from the very start of our music journey and I can’t thank you enough for the great memories. I’m sick to stomach knowing we talked wanting to write jams together while I’m in Florida. I’m going to keep this short and sweet. Rest In Peace my dude🖤 stay beautiful

“1,000 songs in your pocket...” or in this case, 8,397. Going through your teenage years with an iPod in your pocket was truly something special. No monthly streaming fees, no using up your data, and generally fantastic battery life. Just sync your music and go. This 5.5 generation original model has been with me for longer than any of my other iPods and likely could be my last. Local music, friend’s bands, tons of nostalgic pop punk, and so much more is still spinning on the mechanical hard drive inside. Not to mention all the memories made with it in my pocket or the cup holder of my car. Sadly the headphone jack stopped working and it’s finally started to show its age, but I still plug it into a dock now and then and travel back in time...
