Look who’s getting into the carousel game . . .

I’ve been slacking on my social media game (trying to finish this next damn book!), but since I’ve been graced by a buncha new followers lately, I figured it was time I tried one of these. And have I mentioned how galactically grateful I am to all of you for your support and interest? Because it sure is true. ❤️

Today's episode is the last thing we recorded with @ohyeadiana_ . It's a quick ep, mainly intended as comic relief in an incredibly tense season. What it feels like now is a gift.

I can't speak for everyone. For some people, it might still be too painful to hear their voice. But Diana being hilarious while also wielding their otherworldly charisma to persuade some sweet schmo he's capable of more than he thinks he is... that's exactly how I want to remember them.

If you'd like a few more minutes of Zaza magic, it's season 3 episode 17. "Deputy Steve."

The absolute master work that is Give Me Away @gideonaudio is in the running for a Signal Award for Best Voice Acting!

I don’t have enough words for what this show has meant to me over these three seasons. Everyone is firing on all storytelling cylinders and it’s a glorious thing to be part of even though some of the story points are, uh…unexpectedly timely.

If you’re a fiction podcast person and are even slightly intrigued by the season 3 quote in this post (featuring my character 🤭), give us a listen and vote for us!

And repeating this note because it’s still relevant for me and it may be for you too, especially New York indie theater beloveds: radiant punk monk Diana Oh is all over this show and especially this season. As always, their art and spirit is a gift, but it’s a gift that will always be here. If you’re a Zaza loved one, please take care of your beautiful heart and take things at your own pace. Feel free to vote for us in advance of listening! I’ll keep your secret forever.

Episode 6 of Give Me Away Season 3 just dropped, and it’s the one where my character Darren really steps into the spotlight. (I’m in it this season!)

Playing Darren meant digging into some dark but very real corners of American masculinity: religious zealotry, toxic masculinity, militia aggression, and the entitled rage of white cis men who lash out at women and vulnerable groups. What makes him even scarier is that he’s also warm and loyal to his friends. That mix, being a “good guy” in close circles while carrying hate-fueled instincts, is such a strange, unsettling part of the conservative male extremist archetype.

The timing of this episode is…wild. Between yesterday’s assassination of Charlie Kirk, the rise of young men getting pulled into this kind of extremism, ICE raids, and just the constant churn of violence and fear, the parallels hit hard. What I love about Give Me Away is that it doesn’t shy away from these tough things, but tells its story with care and humanity. All thanks to the folks below:

Huge thanks to @jordiwill, @themacrogers, @gideonsean, and the whole @gideonaudio team for making this such a safe, thoughtful space to dive into messy, difficult material. I’m really proud to be apart of it, give it a listen if you like!

Do you like high concept, character-based sci-fi, full of dilemmas and twists and heartbreaks and mindexplosions? Do you like brilliantly produced audiodrama with razor sharp direction and megawatt actors? Well, great news: the first episode of Season 3 of @gideonaudio’s GIVE ME AWAY has just landed! I love this show, and these people, so much, and it’s some of my favorite voice work I’ve ever gotten to do. Find it now and/or catch up with past seasons, wherever you get your podcasts!

This week are sharing another podcast you’ll want to binge this month. Give Me Away, takes body-swapping aliens to another level because in this world the aliens and humans cohabitate. Think Venum but instead, it's consensual body snatching or what some might call volunteering...

More About the Show:
They call the spaceship that crashed in the Nevada desert “The Ghosthouse” because it screams—the screams of thousands of extraterrestrial political prisoners uploaded into its horrific mainframe. The only way to free them... is to transfer them into the bodies of humans willing to share their minds with an alien second consciousness. But who would volunteer for that? Graham Shapiro, divorced and adrift at age 50, is one of the first to raise his hand. Give Me Away follows Graham’s journey into a world of radical hospitality, one which will touch everything—and everyone—in his life.

Gonna brag on my kid for a hot second…this kid was just nominated for TWO @yeaawards! One for being the title character in Witness (was also nominated for a Webby) and one for a sketch he did with Dave Grohl on SNL. Being nominated for YEA means everything to Ollie. He doesn’t do sports and so for him this is his Super Bowl. Thank you @gideonsean @jordiwill @dpdcasting for loving Ollie so much and letting him be a part of such a special project. Thank you @bonshumobloom @lrnyc84 and the whole @stewarttalentnewyork team for always believing in him, advocating so hard for him and helping him do what he loves. It’s the greatest gift. And thank you to @twinkletimeandfriends for creating such a great community of young performers who can be recognized for their hard work and support each other in a healthy, positive way. ❤️ very grateful.
