Year of the Horse or Horse of the Year?

I am so incredibly grateful for the year that I have had with Soren. Never in my life would I imagine that my pony born in my backyard could be the top in the country. When I was notified of the award I was completely blindsided. Soren, “Castle on the Hill” is the USEF and @americanconnemara Horse of the Year, Clifden Trophy Award winner and the top Connemara hunter in the United States.

I can only thank the people who have always supported me. Thank you to Deb Norman for allowing us to use your stallion, and Rattle and Snap Laddie Boy for being the best pony dad ever. Thank you to Campfire S’mores for being the best pony mom and for giving me my best friend in the world.

Thank you to the American Connemara Society for supporting me and allowing me the honor to be chosen for this award.

Thank you to my sister Alexandra and my Dad for dropping everything to get me to Louisville to receive my trophy and awards.

Thank you to my sister @clarajbeck and my mom for always supporting me and pushing us to be the best team we can be and supporting us through our training to get to this point.

Thank you @usequestrian president Tom O’Mara for the opportunity to win an award like this and for the opportunity to meet you.

Thank you @sturnblacer for coaching Soren from being a cow-pony to a national champion in such a short time and to my Houdini Farms family for always having my back!

But most of all, thank you Soren. I could never do this without you, you are my best friend forever and I owe you everything. To think the first time I would walk a red carpet would be because of my pony is something I never would have imagined. I am so proud of us and this is only the beginning. To think we did this in a year is crazy and I am so grateful and thankful for our partnership.

The high point show today was really fun with Wes! We did the 18-2 and 2-3 and had lots of fun. The 18-2 went really well and I placed 1st. The 2-3 was a little rough due to the fact we where both tired and I wasn’t riding great. Also the fences where pretty big for me. Today gave me lots of stuff to work on before the 2020 show season but also made me super excited! Overall really fun and good day! Also big thanks to all the people who came out and helped today!
