If you've ever come across an ad that made you stop scrolling, laugh, or wonder what you just watched, chances are you've encountered the work of Filipino advertising agency GIGIL (@gigilgroup).

Known for its unconventional and distinctly Filipino campaigns for brands like RC Cola, Grab, and Netflix, GIGIL has made a name for itself by creating ads that don't just go viral or become memes but also deliver actual business results.

Now, the creative minds behind the agency are getting their flowers.

GIGIL partners Badong Abesamis, Herbert Hernandez, and Jake Yrastorza were recently recognized at The Business Manual (@businessmanualph) CEO Awards 2026 in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The trio were among ten visionary leaders honored for their bold approach to creativity and business.

Founded in 2017 by Abesamis and Hernandez, who later brought in Yrastorza as a business partner, GIGIL was built on a simple belief: bold, fresh ideas can lead to great business results.

And the numbers speak for themselves. Beyond its viral campaigns and international accolades, GIGIL holds the record for the most APAC Effie Award honors earned by any Philippine agency. The awards recognize marketing effectiveness across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The latest recognition proves that sometimes, thinking outside the box doesn't just get people talking. It pays off, too.

isang taon nang gigil! 😗

this was probably the scariest move i’ve ever done in my life. i was already getting comfy with what i was doing in events, and then one call changed everything.

when i started, i was both familiar and unfamiliar with what i was doing. i was confident, but i also lacked confidence. i was breaking down while building myself back up. i honestly don’t even know how to explain it.

but being part of an award-winning agency, not just in the philippines or in asia, but in the world, has truly been an honor. my name may not be in the forefront most of the time, and may even be forgotten, but knowing that i was part of it, actually helping make things happen, will always be something i’m proud of.

thankful to my @gigilgroup family for being so patient with me, for trusting me, and for welcoming me with so much love. 🥹

and a big shoutout to a kuya in the music industry and an amazing boss, kuya @herberthernandez886. thank you for trusting me.

cheers to more years of panggigigil. 🥂😗

Pinagdasal namin ‘to.

For the first time, kasama ang @gigilgroup sa Indie Agency Ranking ng @thedrummag . Biyaya talaga.

Kaya gusto kong patuloy tayong mag-show up globally.

At sana, mga local brands tulad ng @jollibee ay mas marami pang maging global, with Filipino creativity helping lead the way.

GRATEFUL.
