So back in July we did the Capital Area Craft Trail. We heard about it a few years ago and it sounded fun. The concept is simple, just visit the local breweries and distilleries, order a drink, they stamp your free passport, and once complete you get this really cool tin tacker! We definitely didn’t try to complete this all in one day. So we started on Saturday with one of our favorites, Rally Cap. Moseyed on down to Laissez Versez Distillery, What If Distillery, and Grain Creations. It really helped that those 3 were in walking distance of each other. Emily had some of the best sushi she said she has ever had at a pop up @sushi.ikubiz which was at Grain Creations. And also had really tasty wings and Mac and cheese at Furiouz Eatz food truck. We thought we were done for the day but made the last minute decision to go to Gilla brewing which was one of the further ones for us in Gonzales. Had an amazing frozen drink there which was similar to a White Russian and I think it was called the Hairy Lebowski. We woke up Sunday thinking none were open but then found out a few were. Headed back out to Oxbow Distillery and played darts there while waiting for Cypress Coast to open. At this point we only had one stop left which was the closest for us but unfortunately they didn’t open for another 2 days on Tuesday. So on Tuesday we head to Le Chien in Denham Springs which is also one of our favorites and they always have dogs! Unfortunately we find out they were out of the tackers so made one more stop back at where we started at Rally Cap and while there might as well get a flight lol! It was a great time! We had many tasty drinks, petted lots of puppers, met new people, and it was fun trying these new places and supporting the local scene! Cheers and here’s to next years!!🍻

The craft breweries included in the #capitalareacrafttrail are @rallycapbrewing @graincreationsbeer @lechienbrewingco @cypresscoastbrewing and @gillabrewingco.
All together there’s 8 establishments included. 5 breweries and 3 distilleries. Visit all of them and get a drink, or merch and at the end you collect a beautiful tacker sign, while supplies last. #batonrouge #craftbeer #beersign #daydrinking
