Final Porta-Confessional recap! Thank you to everyone who helped and interacted with the project! We wouldn’t have been able to do it without our awesome friends and partners. If you interacted with the sculpture during Sappy please share your experience! We’ve loved hearing the stories trickle in. My favourite so far has been hearing from a friend of a guitarist who went in late at night and was in there for a few minutes alone before a voice from the other side went: “so are you going to confess?” And then they talked for over an hour! Yay for talking to strangers and learning about eachother. Also if you have any great pictures of the project (particularly of the before…) please send them my way! Thank you to Lucas Morneau for the first four pictures and to @strutsgallery and @sappyfest for the support and for being awesome :)

thank yous • to Michelle, Sequoia, Juniper, and Sepia — for letting our home become a festival again, for the food and the calm and the patience. • to Bill — for building the stage, the lighting, the fire, the warm refreshments, and roadieing whatever needed moving. you held the bones of this thing up. • to Ayden and Evan on sound, Gillianne and Kate (+ friends) on the door, Brian and Mike behind the cameras, Celeigh for the postering, Klarka for the beautiful poster, CL & Steve for billeting some of our musicians, and Maryse for the childcare that made the whole thing possible. couldn’t have done it without you. • to everyone who came — camped in the field, sang along, stayed late, brought their friends, watched out for each other and each others’ kids so we could all enjoy it. you made the woods feel like the right place to be. • and to all of you on stage — for the music, for the generosity, for stepping up on each others’ sets like it was the most natural thing in the world. it was. always, and in everything: in memory of our friend Richard Laviolette.   — jeff
