I’m a big fan of clean retouching, but in this profession, it’s crucial not to overdo it—you have to know when to stop!☝🏼
⠀
Early in my career, I actually had to physically restrain my own hands to keep from going too far😂
⠀
These days, my favorite technique as always - Dodge & Burn! It helps me keep the skin looking natural🫶

There is something especially meaningful about seeing AREUM become part of someone else’s ritual.

Recently, makeup artist Gina Cartwright (@ginamakeup____) shared a glimpse of her routine using Guardian, Grace and Petal — each in its intended place, offering something distinct to the skin.

Gina’s work is rooted in a thoughtful, considered approach to beauty: enhancing what is already there, creating space for individuality, and bringing care and intention to every face she works with. That same sensitivity came through in the way she used AREUM.

Guardian to hydrate and support.
Grace to nourish and replenish.
Petal to soften and leave the lips with a quiet, luminous sheen.

A generous and unexpected glimpse of our formulations beyond the AREUM studio.

You can discover Gina’s beautiful ritual on our Stories.

Thank you, Gina, for sharing AREUM so beautifully — and for supporting a small local skincare studio with the care, artistry and thoughtfulness you bring to your work. It means more than you know.

CALLING ALL HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTISTS! ✨

I’ve been producing more and more projects for my clients over the past year or so, and although I have an incredible list of HMUAs to draw from, it’s getting hard to keep track of everyone’s details. I get talented artists reaching out to me every few days to connect, and I figured it’s time to make things official! I’m setting up a new database… just like the model list I did that has now received over 1000 entries from around the globe, and secured a pile of bookings on my clients shoots.

I don’t test much anymore, but this is also selfishly a list to help me remember all the talented people I’ve been planning to get creative with when the opportunity arrives 🥰

My clients span a wide range, some shoots demand an ultra premium crew, others are just getting started and need enthusiastic juniors, if you’re somewhere on that scale, I want you to add your details to the list. (Safe practices and flawless hygiene are obviously essential).

I want to know all your special skills and interests too! So next time I need a crazy lizard skin SFX finish, a sleek alien wet hair look, a drag glam specialist or a curl connoisseur, I’ll know exactly who to book.

If you’re interested or we’ve worked together before (and yes that’s especially you, my ultra faves💘), pls go to the LINK IN MY BIO, and fill out as much info as you can.

(Please note this is a google form, so you’ll need to have a google acct)

Finally, please share this with any amazing hair or makeup artists you think I should know!

Can’t wait to see you on set real soon xx

Four days in Guangzhou for the International Hair Expo.

What a bag of surprises this trip was! The architecture, the technology, the scale, the people, the food. So much to see, so much to take in.

An incredible insight into the world behind our industry. We came for hair, but left with so much more.

Until next time, China x
