Reminder that October 7th, 2026 does not mark three years of gen0cide. It marks more than 78 YEARS of gen0cide, Palestinian dispossession, occupation, forced displacement & resistance to colonial domination. And through every attempt to erase them, Palestinians have remained steadfast – rooted in their land, their memory, their people & their struggle for liberation.
•
No empire lasts forever. No system of colonial domination is permanent. The oppressed have always fought to reclaim what was stolen from them, & Palestine will not be the exception.
•
Honor to the martyrs stolen from this world. Power to the Palestinian people, to their steadfastness, survival & unbreakable demand for freedom. May we live to see the walls fall, the chains of empire break & a free Palestine from the river to the sea in our lifetime. 🇵🇸🕊️

How our team feels because of you…🥰 Thank you all so much for being part of the incredible, expansive community behind THE STORY WE BROKE. We’re beyond elated to share that in total, we raised $25,382! We are deeply grateful to have you in our corner as we approach the final edit process. We’re making this film happen!

We hope to reshape how audiences understand student activism, media bias, and community journalism. If there are organizations or individuals we should connect with as we map our distribution and impact plans, we’d love an intro (sanjnaselva@gmail.com, kitty@shoesoffmedia.com) 😉

You’ll see more updates from us here soon! In the meantime, thank you, thank you, thank you.

With gratitude & in solidarity,
The Story We Broke Team (just a few of whom are pictured here!)

Happy @darializaforny day, New York!

Before seizing a stunning victory in New York’s 13th congressional district and becoming the first Dominican woman elected to Congress, Darializa Avila Chevalier was an ardent student organizer, seen here in our film exchanging a sweet moment with participant @maryam_alwan_ during Columbia University’s encampments on Maryam’s 22nd birthday 🍉🩷

To holding firm to a moral compass for Palestine, from the halls of Congress to the lawns of universities, keep supporting the stories and voices that matter.

Chanel is EXTREMELY urgent. She can be euthanized at any time REGARDLESS of outcry or improvement.
A bite history is a heavy burden on the animal and the humans that she entrusts to take care of her.
Do not dismiss a bite- the city demands we manage these circumstances in the shadows and we need to share what this will cost Chanel if we do not find a safe and responsible exit for her.
We do not have experience with her and other cats ..we’ve wanted to allow her to heal and build trust in order to safely assess what we think , if we know, what her triggers are. For now; we’ve seen high FAS at intake reduce itself significantly but that’s a result of consistent structure and steady, confident handlers. We’re not taking anything for granted but the upwards trajectory has been promising ..this improvement has taken months and we should expect the same learning curve in a home. If she’s on a timeline..she’s not for you. We are pleading to do this right.

Please help us exit SAFELY. There is no point of finding her a pathway out of West LA if it only puts her in a bad position.

On the 50th anniversary of Land Day (Yom Al Ard), we stand in unwavering solidarity with Pa1estinian land defenders resisting theft, displacement, occupation, & the U.S.-funded gen0cide carried out by I$rael. March 30th is a reminder that Pa1estinians have the right to remain, return, & live freely on their land. Our commitment to justice & liberation for Pa1estine has never been more urgent. May we see a free Pa1estine in our lifetime. 🍉✊🏽

Across Coast Salish territory in the Pacific Northwest, Children of the Setting Sun Productions is using storytelling to preserve culture, support community, and reconnect people with traditional knowledge.

We had the honor of writing a new piece for Ishkode Fund about their work, from salmon restoration to creating pathways for Indigenous youth in media and storytelling.

For them, storytelling is more than creative expression. It’s a way of carrying knowledge forward - something that carries through in their new film, The River Remembers, which asks us to see rivers not as resources, but as living systems.

The full story is up at the link in bio.

#WaterIsLife | 02.25.26 • Gaza City — thanks to your unwavering support, we delivered 1 water truck (6 cups total) to the northern region today.
This distribution reached:
• Passports office area in Gaza City
The total cost for this delivery was $200.00 ($33.33 per cup).
This delivery is the equivalent of 2 trucks — brings our running total to 1,390 water trucks delivered across Gaza through mutual aid. That’s the equivalent of 13.90 MILLION bottles of water.
We continue because our water comes from Palestinian-owned wells in Gaza. Every truck is an act of direct aid and Indigenous solidarity, rooted in self-determination and sovereignty for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
How You Can Support:
• Donate on Instagram or at waterislifegaza.org
• Shop t-shirts by Indigenous artists – 100% of proceeds go to Gaza relief

The scent of fresh bread is a reminder of hope. In the heart of Khattab and Al-Karama camps, Partnering up with our kin @grassroots_gaza we are ensuring that the most basic necessity reaches those who need it most during these holy days.
We have distributed dedicated bread cards to 75 families, guaranteeing them a daily share of 12–13 large loaves (1100 - 1200g). This support will continue every single day for the remainder of Ramadan, providing a sense of security and a warm meal for Suhoor and Iftar.
In times of hardship, a loaf of bread is more than just food—it is a message of solidarity and a testament to the strength of our community in Khan Younis.
The Impact:
• 75 Families supported daily.
• 12-13 Large Loaves per family.
• Daily Distribution through the end of Ramadan.
• Location: Khattab Camp & Al-Karama Camp.
May every grain bring a blessing to those who give and those who receive.
Donations are now OPEN. Our current project cost is $2,300, but with your help, we can expand. Every additional donation allows us to issue more cards and include more families in this distribution. In times of hardship, a loaf of bread is more than just food—it is a message of solidarity.
Join us in feeding our community.
