Hi Everypawdy,

It’s me @barrett_the_all_black_cat for this week’s @blackcatfeatures I met a couple of Royal bro’s living the sweet life in New Zealand’s capital city, Auckland.

We got onto Cat Chat where the Prince Royal of the household, Prince Kovu @blackprince_kovu shared tales of his royally intriguing life. HRH Prince Kovu told me he became the Prince after a accidentally being lost for 2 months!

“The hoomans moved house, I just got scared and I found myself living under a house. Luckily the dog that lived there didn’t seem to notice that I was sharing food from his bowl to survive! I guess, that’s the wild for you.” Kovu told me .. it was hardly the life for a Prince!

He was reunited with his hoomans after a neighbour recognised him and on his return home was crowned the Prince Royal of their household. Now, every waking hour is dedicated to serving him. His attentive hoomans noticed that, during the recent lockdowns, he seemed lonely, so they adopted a little Prince-in-Waiting, Sabo. The hoomans brought Sabo home from the SPCA, he had a rough start but now he’s the little Prince in Waiting.

Sabo is just 9 months old, so when he’s not chasing and loving his big bro, he loves to catch lizards (not the native ones and he can catch up to 10 a day, just to play with!) He also loves being cuddled!! Prince Kovu, is 5 and appreciates finer things in life like sticks and long strands of grass. His fur is kept regal with regular brushing and scratches on-demand. Prince Kovu told me that he dislikes unroyal behaviour and forbids the hoomans to pick him up he said, “I can walk to my throne, I can’t risk being hooman-handled.”

Prince Kovu and his Prince in Waiting, Sabo are just pure love and divine royalty!

Go and say MEOW to HRH @blackprince_kovu It was meow pleasure to meet you both.

Love you guys, B XXXX

In the tune to band aid ‘do they know it’s Christmas’ I send you my own wonky tidings…

🎶 It’s Catmas time, hooman be very afraid. At catmas time, I bring in mice and rip lamp shades. And after a night of tunatinis, I’ll leave you small piles of joy. Pull your claws down the curtains, this catmas time… 😼
