🌟 Meet Gio Okpala, a rising star in Track & Field and proud member of the UTSA Class of ‘28! 🏃‍♂️🔥
Gio specializes in the 300m hurdles and 110m hurdles, with impressive PRs:
• 300mh: 39.04s 🚀
• 110mh: 15.01s ⚡️
👟 How It All Started: Gio’s journey began in 3rd grade when his dad casually asked if he wanted to try track. With no sports under his belt, Gio said, “Sure, why not?” Little did he know, it would become something he’d look forward to every day. Despite the classic love-hate relationship with the sport, Gio’s determination to be the best version of himself keeps him going 💪😂.
🏅 Accomplishments:
• TAPPS State Qualifier: Junior & Senior Year 🏆
• 300m Hurdles Champion: Senior Year 💪🎖️
• 110mh Runner-Up: TAPPS 2024 State Meet 🥈
• 4x400m Relay Champion: With teammates @mason_wokoma06, t_worth1, and @fr_pres 💥🙌
✨ Gio’s passion, dedication, and team spirit have set him apart on the track and will undoubtedly carry him far as he begins his collegiate journey at UTSA 🌟.
Let’s cheer for Gio as he tackles new heights and continues to chase greatness! 🏁🔥
