New Voices is our weekly series hosted by a roster of selectors sharing new sounds from around the world. From interviews with pioneering Singaporean rapper Mary Sue, to the burgeoning soulful sounds coming out of Berlin with Lukas Akintaya, experimental jazz from Japan and genre-bending rhythms out of Ghana. 🌟 @dimitrazina is a Berlin-based Greek DJ, curator, and radio host at the heart of the Berlin’s jazz and soul movement. 🌟 @elinam.yaa is a cultural producer, and DJ weaving meditative textures, soulful experiments, and genre-bending rhythms based between London and Accra. 🌟 @giovannaboffaa is a Chicago-based radio host and curator blending local and global sounds–caters to all, listens to none and hurries slowly. 🌟 Mayu Amano (@mayuness1) is a selector and radio host highlighting the intersections of contemporary jazz, folk traditions and experimental soundscapes based in Tokyo, Japan. 🌟 Rah (@rahzizan) is a Singapore-native starting out in the nascent nightlife of Singapore in the early 2000s based in Naarm, Australia. 🌟 @zaereo is a London-based curator and radio host, hailing from Sheffield, connecting with pioneering DIY music scenes around the world.
