IT’S OCTOBER 💕🍒 This month, we’ll watch so many companies and brands turn pink. But we exist to LIVE in that pink year-round. Kicking off October felt like the right time to share the story behind our brand, so thoughtfully curated by our Co-founder and COO, Sarah. Let’s break it down! ✨ THERA (to serve, attend, or care for) + TAS (the ta-tas!) • pronounced just like it reads: (thera • tahss) 🫶 If you look closely, you’ll catch the breast form and nipple woven into the logo. 🍒 “When creating the brand identity, I wanted to surprise Kelsey with something unique yet universal. I knew I wanted pink to be an element, but not the only element. After ample research into the scans breast cancer patients go through, microscope slides of breast biopsies, and cancer-positive thermographic imaging, I took all of those colors and patterns and wove them together into an aurora-esque landscape.” — from Sarah DEEP COMMITMENT 🫶 As women founders, our brand and the essence of who we are rooted in deep commitment to the breast cancer community. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re working around the clock to bring our wellness tool to market: an at-home massage tool with patented technology, designed to care for patients in their recovery journey after mastectomy or lumpectomy. Recovery after breast surgery can bring so many unexpected changes, and some don’t show up until months or even years later. You deserve care beyond the clinic walls. Theratas is purpose-built by our CEO, an Oncology LMBT, to support patients navigating common post-op concerns like pain, tightness, and tissue changes, & beyond, whenever they arise. What happens when great people, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to growth come together? Our June 10 Spring Forward networking event was a tremendous success. Through the partnership between Carolina Women+ in Tech, Eliassen Group and IBM, we created a space where connections went beyond exchanging business cards and turned into genuine conversations, new opportunities, and lasting relationships. From thoughtful table discussions to open networking, it was inspiring to see professionals show up with curiosity, generosity, and a willingness to support one another. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it 🤍 After 8 incredible years, I’m saying goodbye to Raleigh Founded and stepping into a new chapter, officially focusing on @romer_and_company Founded has been more than a job. It’s been a home, a family, and a front-row seat to watching people bet on themselves. I’m so deeply proud of what we built. The community, the culture, the team, and the countless moments in between. This place shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. I couldn’t have made this leap without my support system, friends, family, coworkers, members, and mentors who believed in me long before I fully believed in myself. While I’m going to miss Founded more than I can put into words, I’m so excited to pour my heart into Romer & Company. My goal is to help people create spaces they love through thoughtful interior design and real estate. I painted this mural on my backyard porch as a way to come home to myself. Solaris, named after the Latin word for ✨ of the Sun,✨ is a reminder to rise, to radiate, and to return to joy, even when I forget. The Sun has always been a symbol I come back to. It represents warmth, creative energy, consistency, and personal power. After a long stretch of burnout, I needed something physical, something permanent, that reminds me of who I am and how I want to show up. Now this wall meets me each morning as I sip coffee, journal, and to remind myself of my belonging. It holds light, intention, and the simple truth that I’m allowed to shine. This one was for me. Wow…Wow…Wow! Today, our CEO, Dr. V, had the incredible opportunity to speak on a topic she’s truly passionate about—STEAM Education + Mental Health + Access + Early Exposure + Engagement! A huge thank you to MetLife for organizing such an impactful conference, bringing together individuals from Raleigh, New York, Mexico, and beyond. Over 1,000 attendees, both in-person and virtually, gathered to discuss “The Disruption Advantage: Powering Inclusion and Innovation in STEM.” This event inspired us to push the boundaries and drive purpose-driven change, encouraging us to redefine what’s possible in STEM by fostering inclusion and innovation. We are grateful to have been invited to partner in this year’s conference and provide Dr. V with a platform to share her passion. And honestly, the final panel lineup was 🔥.
