POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@animeink_con 2026 🖤

Still recovering from this weekend. Got to tattoo some of my favorite little weirdos, meet so many insanely talented artists, and spend a few days completely surrounded by people who love this shit as much as I do.

So grateful to everyone who stopped by, got tattooed, traded with me, or just came over to talk. And especially to all the artists I got to meet and learn from this weekend. You guys made my first Anime Ink one I won’t forget.

I’ve really enjoyed making these this summer. Some artist friends have offered encouragement and critique along the way. They’ve also told me to make prints, sell prints, and sell the originals. Even when I went to get some scanned this morning, I saw a friend in the parking lot and he offered to buy one for $200. I told him he was crazy.

I’m also tagging some artists/friends whose work I appreciate. You should check them out. So much of the world is just 50 shades of bland, and color and contrast and brightness are way more fun. I like to think that God loves tints and hints and hues. And if these aren’t your speed, np. As my beautiful daughter says, “Dad they all look the same.” But if you care about this kind of human-generated art for other humans, DM me and lmk which one is your fave and if you’d like a print.

t’s funny how a handful of photos can hold so much history.

Doing each other’s hair before work. My first convention as an apprentice. My first convention tattooing beside you. My first tattoo on myself, with you coaching me through every shaky line.

Somewhere between all of those moments, you became so much more than my mentor.

Tattoo artists spend their lives leaving their marks on people. The older I get, the more I realize the deepest ones aren’t always made with ink. Sometimes they’re made through patience, encouragement, honesty, and believing in someone long before they believe in themselves.

You changed my life in ways I’ll probably spend the rest of it trying to repay. Every tattoo I do carries a little piece of what you’ve taught me, and every milestone I reach has your fingerprints on it.

I hope this next chapter gives you the same gift you’ve given so many others. Time to create for yourself again. To fill sketchbooks instead of appointment books (though full books are cool, too.). To remember what it feels like to make art just because you love it.

Happy 29th, Sarah. Thank you for taking a chance on me, for making me a better artist, and an even better person. I love you. ❤️

The newest addition to my little portfolio, and this one means so much to me 🤍

For those who don’t know, my sister-in-law is an incredibly talented tattoo artist. She wanted to support me by letting me tattoo one of my portfolio pieces on her, which was such an honor. It was by far the most intimidating tattoo I’ve done—not because of the placement or design, but because I wanted to do it justice! (Also had @quimbyjordan for moral support)

She was the sweetest throughout the entire process, and we had such a great time. I’m so thankful for everyone who has supported me through this graduation project and helped me get to this point.

I’m officially taking on clients now, and what a cute little guy to finish my portfolio tattoos with. I’m absolutely obsessed with how he turned out, and I couldn’t have asked for a better piece to close this chapter and start the next one. 🤍

1 year without my best friend— to know Nan was to know: she demanded every single penny be picked up. very serendipitous that the penny was last minted in the year she passed. Nan, I promise to forever pick up every penny I see 🤍
