Risk management/Insurance majors explored two industry sectors during the latest semiannual installment of the Florida Surplus Lines Speaker Series at the Wertheim Center. 📄💲

Jennifer Woods, vice president of risk management for the PGA Tour, and Wes Williams, senior managing director at Aon, discussed how organizations prepare for what comes next. Their talk, “The Business of Risk: Perspectives on Risk Management and Reinsurance,” covered their current roles and career paths. Then they answered students’ questions before continuing into an evening reception. 🎤

We are grateful to the Florida Surplus Lines Association (FSLA) and the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (FSLSO) for continuing to support events like this that give students access to forward-thinking RMI professionals. Thank you to the FSLA and FSLSO teams for another meaningful opportunity! 👏

The latest offering in the Florida Surplus Lines Speaker Series, a collaboration between FSLA and the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (FSLSO), was standing room only. Liz Smith, MS-RMI (TD SYNNEX), Felicia Rawlin, CPCU, ASLI (Dellwood Insurance), Tim Scollo (Markel Specialty) and David DeMott (Gridiron Insurance Underwriters), each FSU RMI alumni, shared insights on risk managers, underwriters, E&S opportunities and emerging exposures. Thank you to the Florida State University College of Business, FSU Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance’s Program in RMI students and all who attended!

RMI Days at FSU is one of our favorite events. Thank you so much, @fsubiz, for hosting, and to each amazing student we had the pleasure of connecting with this week — special thanks to those brave enough to play Surplus Lines Trivia! FSLA members Anthony DiBuono (Amelia Underwriters, Inc.) and Chris Siegel (Burns & Wilcox), helped make it too much fun.

A select group of RMI students took advantage of an opportunity to visit Ponte Vedra Beach, south of Jacksonville, and toured the PGA Tour headquarters. The experience fit them to a tee! ⛳ 🏌️
