Three years have passed, and I just wish this day did not exist.
I miss you, Gabe, more than words can ever speak. The love I carry for you has never faded.

I know you are better where you are, and I hold on to the promise that one day I will see you again in heaven. But holding on to that hope does not make it any easier for us here. It is still hard, and it still hurts, even while I trust that you are safe and whole.

Today I honor your life, your strength, your kindness, and everything you taught me. You changed me forever.

Every year we make our hike to honor you, and we will keep doing it for the rest of our lives, carrying your love with us on every step.

I love you forever, my son. Three years without you here, but never one day without you in my heart. I cannot wait for the day I get to hold you again.
