This first bedroom is a room I like to come back to for bed frame manifestation haha🧊🌷🧊 Dean Gardens was the largest home in Atlanta at the time of its completion in 1992, with 32,000 sqft and 15 bedrooms. The former owner, Larry Dean, founder of financial services company Stockholder Systems Inc, had the house built over 4 years between the late 80s and ‘92 with his former wife Lynda, spending somewhere between $25 and $30 million on its construction. They were separated before construction was complete🥀 Two years later in 1994, the home was put up for sale and went unsold for 17 years, with Larry spending over a million dollars a year on its upkeep in the meantime. Then in 2010, Dean Gardens was sold to Tyler Perry for $7.6 million, down from it’s original asking price of $40 million. An estate sale/gala was held at the mansion in August of 2010 where furniture, antiques, and several pieces of architecture were removed & sold, with part of the proceeds benefitting Luminosity Atlanta who hosted the sale. Patrons were able to tour the estate and purchase all the pieces and trimmings inside and out of Dean Gardens. The gala/sale was also complete with light shows, aerial dance, and live performances by gloATL✨At the time of the sale it was known that Perry planned to tear down the home to build something more to his taste & more energy-efficient and sustainable while keeping the gardens. But instead the estate was left abandoned for several years before he sold it for $9.2 million to Lennar Homes to develop a subdivision. Lennar Homes began demolition in 2014 and finished in 2015, spending close to $13,000,000 prepping the property. Construction began on the new development and was quickly halted before Lennar Homes abandoned the project supposedly due to land erosion and building restrictions. Finally, it sold once more to Ashton Woods for $14,300,000 and Ashton Woods developed what is now known as the Bayard community, a gated subdivision on 58 acres in John’s Creek with 61 residential lots.
