Doctor: “There’s a chance you might never move again.”

Me: “There’s also a chance I will.”

We rise because these girls deserve every opportunity to discover who they can become.

At HealHome, we see their talent, their determination, and the dreams they are finding the courage to pursue. We keep showing up because we believe in what is possible for them.

Our support may be limited, but our commitment remains strong. We continue building, opening doors, and creating opportunities with the resources we have, while working to bring more people into their corner.

Thank you to Congressman Ritchie Torres for this recognition and to everyone helping us move this mission forward.

There is room for more people to be part of their journey. These girls have so much ahead of them, and together, we can help them rise.

This is for every teacher whose students make them feel like a hero. Sometimes, all it takes is a little cheering to remind us why we love what we do. #teachers #thegoat #teacherlife🍎 #teachersofthegram #everydayheroes

“ANOTHER ONE…” 🎙️ -in my DJ Khaled voice-

Another opportunity.
Another experience.
Another door opened for our girls.

We’re not done. 🥎💫

Sometimes you watch them play and realize you’re witnessing more than softball.

You’re watching confidence being built.
Dreams getting bigger.
Young women discovering just how powerful they can become.

Every step. Every glove. Every play has its own rhythm.

Poetry in motion.
Music in real life.
A sweet symphony.

I can’t think of another way of spending this summer, if I could, I would do it all again🫶

There was never a master plan. No dream of building a nonprofit, traveling to colleges, or creating something that would one day become HealHome.

It started with a simple belief: if young girls had a safe place to go, someone who genuinely cared, and a door that was always open, maybe their story could be different.

That belief came with sacrifices. My office wasn’t just an office. It became a second home. Before school, during free periods, at lunch, and for hours after the final bell, that door stayed open. There were long days, late afternoons, and countless moments that no one ever saw. None of it was for recognition. It was because some things matter more than a clock.

Looking back at this video from 2017 reminds me that HealHome wasn’t built through a business plan. It was built one conversation, one opportunity, and one girl at a time.

The mission has never been about creating the biggest organization. It’s always been about creating a place where girls know they are valued, protected, and believed in. Everything HealHome is today grew from those small moments, those quiet sacrifices, and a commitment to never close the door on a child who needed someone.

The family got bigger, but the mission has never changed.

Years ago, Fox News 5 helped me pull an April Fools joke on my softball team, pretending we couldn’t raise enough money for our Chicago trip. The look on their faces… heartbreak. Then the relief and pure joy when they realized it was a joke. That moment reminds me why I coach: it’s about the laughs, the tears, and the memories we share together. #aprilfoolsday #prank #softballfamily #bronx #nyc

Today we’re throwing it back to the undefeated Lady Tigers of 2016 🐯💪! These girls left it all on the field every game and showed the true meaning of teamwork, determination, and heart. It was an absolute privilege to coach this incredible group of athletes. Their legacy still inspires us today! 💙⚾ #TBT #LadyTigers2016 #UndefeatedSeason #softballstrong
