Recently exploring songwriting by diving into songs and especially lyrics of contemporary maestroes.

In this case I recorded a cover of the song ‚Fever‘ from @kingsofconvenience …

‚Fever‘ was mainly sung by Erlend Øye and I loved how fragile his voice sounded in the album‘s recording.

Øye has recently played with his former band ‚The Whitest Boy Alive‘ again to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their debut album. I also heard rumours, that Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe are working on another album🤞

Oh and I play a bad boy of a uke from Raphael Herzberg from Rössel Ukulele. It is a regular Low-G Tenor Uke made out of walnut with a baked maple neck. I tuned it full step down, to bring its tonal register closer to my natural voice for this song.

Last week I went to the Norwegian Consulate in Manhattan, where all Norwegian musicians live when they play Bowery Ballroom (someone fact check that), and I ran into Sondre Lerche, the Bergen-born singer-songwriter who just released a lovely new album called ‘Acrobats.’ He’s on tour in the US this month before heading home for a run of shows in Norway. Sondre was kind enough to teach me how to pronounce the names of some other Stereogum-beloved Norwegian artists I have apparently been saying wrong for many years. I even practiced saying [ˈsɔndrə ˈlærkə] before the interview and still got it wrong.
