SCRUFF OF THE NECK RECORDS WRAPPED 2025 Scruff of the Neck Records catalogue achieved over 50 million streams in 2025 as our masters grew to over 400 tracks after 60 releases this year. Media support impacted massively with over 200 UK national radio plays (inc BBC Radio 1, premieres for Cast on BBC Radio 2, Virgin Radio A lists, BBC Radio 6, Kerrang!, Radio X and more) over 1,000 international plays, key tastemaker press (inc NME, Clash, DIY) and of course significantly support from DSP playlisting at Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and Deezer amongst others, with over 60 editorial playlists for our artists. We signed britpop legends Cast ahead of their worldwide tour with Oasis, and announced their brand new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’. Not only that, we achieved chart success with The Lilacs and their debut EP ‘The 395 (To Forever), who also completely sold out their UK Tour, including a huge hometown headline at the 2,800 capacity Manchester Academy. We also continued to work Scruff of the Neck royalty, as Bilk and Glass Caves both released their second albums much to critical acclaim alongside charting success, huge radio plays and garnering tastemaker press. Thank you to all of the artists and their teams for their great music, and we can’t wait to announce everything we have planned in 2026!

Still can’t believe the hobby became a career, who’d have thought it. Thanks to all the people who dedicated time and energy to this over the years ❤️ Some VERY old photos from the archives here as we celebrate 15 years of Scruff of the Neck! Here’s some ‘lore: We started in 2010 in a pub in Manchester called The Rampant Lion. From early on playing in our own bands we knew that to run the best gigs you needed to offer more than just booking a venue and sticking a poster up, so we started doing more outside the gig to help sell it out and attract the most promising bands. The record label was formed recording bands in a suburban bedroom, getting a pal to do a music video, ringing around local radio stations and burning CDs ourselves on a home computer. We started managing bands as we fell a bit too much for them when working together. Fast forward to now, and we’re an award winning label strategically partnered with some of the world’s biggest independent companies working consistently the most exciting artists every year. Our live business continues to flourish with over 3,000 live shows to date, now running over 300 shows a year with artists from breakthrough to international touring level. Please join us in Manchester this Thursday as we celebrate our 15 Years by throwing a huge Birthday Party! There will be live performances from Body Water and Malcom as well as a limited edition Birthday Beer! All are welcome!
