I liken our rescue to more of a doggy matchmaking service, since the vast majority of our patients have less than ideal pasts. A lot of folks want the cute dog they saw in the picture, without even reading about its personality, quirks or needs. Sometimes we get lucky and find a happy, healthy, young pup that can jive with anyone’s lifestyle. But more often than not, we get the used dogs that are deemed ‘unadoptable’ due to any number of different reasons. Our first challenge is to make them adoptable. Once we’ve cleared that hurdle, placing them in the right home is paramount for them to continue thriving. Sometimes the stars align and a terrified, sickly, scrappy lil doggo cleans up into an absolute gem and finds herself and equally quirky person to spend her furever with. Congrats to Ouizer (now Tizzy) and her new human, Harriette - a match made in heaven! 🐶💕
.
Extra special thanks to @tilsonterry for trapping this sweet lil gal, @glasscorpion and Matt for fostering her, @southern_pearl_veterinary_hosp for getting her well again, Olivia for vetting potential adopters and @leilaplus3 for facilitating the adoption. It takes a village!! 💛

The last few weeks have been such a whirlwind and I’ve been admittedly awful at keeping y’all posted on all our comings and goings! Here’s a quick rundown... 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️
.
Bruce went to a temporary foster home to finish up his HW treatment and then will go straight from there to be super spoiled by his new furever family! Congrats my, Brucie baby! 😭
.
Troubadour was adopted by a rad couple and now answers to Yuzu! ⭐️🌙
.
Scarlett is being spoiled silly by her foster Mama and has an adoption pending!🌹
.
Thora is currently being fostered by a friend who head over heels for her and plans to adopt! 🌸
.
I don’t think Jack has touched the ground yet at his foster home. Also, I suspect that sweet boy ain’t goin’ nowhere. 👴🏻🏆
.
Chicken hates me a little bit less! He wags his tail now and then acts like he’s confused by it all. Lol. 🐓
.
We got in, like, 8,000 more possums. .
Mr. Burns (Monte) has officially been adopted by his loving foster family. Saw that coming a mile away. 🌭
.
My friend Jes won the Fastest Foster Fail Award and is now the proud owner of one beautiful Bluetick Coonhound baby named Toula (formerly Hazel). 🎯
.
More later. Thanks for following us, y’all. 💛
