Healthy hair starts here ✨⤵️

1. Shampoo & Conditioner:
Drugstore products contain harsher surfactants and sit at a higher pH, stripping out the hair and then disguising it by coating the hair in silicones, so ditch the drugstore products and use a high quality hydrating/moisturizing shampoo & conditioner. Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal is great for those with dry scalps, otherwise I love the True Soft line. I also recommend only washing your hair 2-3 times per week and use dry shampoo if your hair gets oily fast so you don’t get stuck in the cycle of over washing and your hair overcompensates.

2. Leave-in Conditioner:
A leave-in conditioner is your next best friend when it comes to soft, frizz free hair. Apply into towel dried hair and comb through. My favorite is the Kevin Murphy Everlasting Color Leave-in. It strengthens hair while hydrating it, has color protection, UV protection, and heat protection! What more could you want in a product!

3. Heat Protectant:
It’s wicked important to protect your hair against heat when blowdrying and hot tool styling. Remember, your blowdryer is a heat styling tool too!

HOT TIP: your hair isn’t food, it doesn’t need to be cooked at 425°; use tools between 280-380°F depending on hair texture — fine hair strands are more fragile and lower heat should be used, while coarse hair is more resistant and needs higher heat.

4. Hair Oil & Serum:
Sometimes the hair needs a little extra love on those ends a and help to seal in the moisture. Hair oil and serums are the perfect thing!

My secret is applying hair oil to rough-dried hair and blow drying it in. But it can also be applied to dry hair when it just needs that extra moisture boost! Just remember water and oil don’t mix so make sure your hair properly hydrated prior to, so you don’t lock moisture out!

5. Hair Masks:
Thank you for making it this far! If you feel like after all those your hair still needs some extra help, whether you’re dealing with a lot of previous damage and excessive heat styling, you can use a hair mask every 1-2 weeks to heal the hair from the inside out. Shampoo, then apply your mask, and then condition AFTER to lock it in! :)
