As a teenager growing up in Nashville, TN over 20 years ago, some brave adults chose to give up their time, energy, money, pride, self-interests, comforts to hang out with a knucklehead like me and my buddies. Why did they do it? Was it because I had a lot in common with them? No. Was it because they didnt have adult friends their age? No. Or maybe they had all their “stuff” together? No no. Ahhhhh ☝🏼 they had nothing better to do with their time…nope! There was seemingly very little reward for investing in my life. No promise of a fruitful “return on investment”. They gave up many parts of their lives, but why??? They saw something I couldn’t see myself. The need to know and be known by Jesus. It wasn’t about me. It wasn’t about them. It was about the impact a man named Jesus made on their lives and they couldn’t help but give Him away to me. Their sacrifice was worth the cost. I have since been inspired to do the same, “cross the boundary of age and offer true friendship” to teenagers. @allidrinkwine and I are honored to continue the work through @younglife so many tirelessly gave to us. This holiday season I am asking you to consider supporting the work my wife and I both do through this mission.
