Our Sunday 9/27 concert with Town Quartet is postponed due to injury. Instead, Town Quartet cellist and Glenview Classical Series co-director, Lewis Patzner, is presenting a program called Cello Suite Evolution. Centered on J. S. Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2 in D Minor, the concert explores music that influenced, both directly and indirectly, Bach’s solo string music, as well as Patzner’s original Suite for Solo Cello, and a to-be-determined rendition of a Duke Ellington tune.

Sunday September 27th 7:30PM
St. Paul Lutheran Church of Oakland
1658 Excelsior Ave. 20-40 NOTAFLOF

Program:
Anonymous/Praetorius: Ballet Des Anglois CCLXXI from “Terpsichore”
Gabrielli: Ricercar No. 5
Westhoff: Violin Suite in D Minor
J. S. Bach: Prelude No. 1 in C Major from Well Tempered Klavier Book I
J. S. Bach: Largo from the Solo Violin Sonata in C Major
J. S. Bach: Cello Suite No. 2 in D Minor
Intermission
Ellington: *not yet determined

Tomorrow! The Bridge Music Collective plays new music by local composers, presented by Glenview Classical Series! I wrote a raunchy tune called Escapade, and 7 other composers from our local community also wrote pieces. Every piece is a world premiere! Very grateful to the performers and composers for undertaking this project!

I wrote a piece that @thebridgemusiccollective is performing on Sunday! It’s called Escapade, “a usually adventurous action that runs counter to approved or conventional conduct” - Merriam Webster dictionary. I’m very thankful to the musicians who have learned this risky piece with a lot of notes and tricky rhythms.

Sunday March 8th 4pm at @saintpauloakland @glenviewclassicalseries presents The Bridge Music Collective, performing a program of all works premieres from our local composer community!

"Death, Dreaming" is about an odd experience I had recently, made even more odd by the fact that I found the experience to be beautiful.

I look forward to hearing this piece alongside an illustrious band of composers this Sunday!

I am super excited and honored to have @thebridgemusiccollective premiere a new piece of mine, “Forrest Cave”, as a part of the @glenviewclassicalseries on Sunday, March 8 at 4pm.

This piece was inspired by video game music - how they set the scenes and become ingrained in us. I look forward to diving into new musical worlds with you as the concert premieres new works by many local composers!
