September marks National Suicide Prevention Month 🫂 In 2022 I was lucky enough to be 1 of the 5 acts hand picked by @c.syresmith to fly to London for 5 days and perform my version of @maxmartinmusic single “Red Lights” 🚨 live on TikTok for @stemdrop As someone that has battled with depression and even suicidal thoughts in the past, I had a feeling that this was the perfect time to use my platform and talk about something extremely important and still overlooked #mentalhealth I first thought about suicide in the 4th grade, I made my own obituary when I was in middle school, and over the years have constantly battled with myself. Reminding myself of my worth was and is so hard but it’s an everyday walk. I wrote about HEALING in this song. I was lucky enough to find God at a young age but for those that are still struggling, take the time to find yourself, because he’s in you. You really are never alone, even the negative voices in your head prove that to you…change your mindset, control your thoughts and emotions. You have more power than you think. This song brings me joy because it reminds me that I overcame my battles instead of taking the easy way, drugs, death, or even destruction. YOU GOT THIS! I can promise you the healing journey is a painful journey full of ups and downs and hurtful truths but it’s worth it and it’s the best high you’ll ever get 🌹 If no one told you today I LOVE YOU and I think it takes a strong individual to be vulnerable and open about their struggles with mental health. #Love 🤍 #suicidepreventionmonth #mentalhealthawareness #hugafriend
