let me tell you how bad, karen 🤬

while it’s nearly impossible to put into words the physical, mental, emotional, and financial pain that comes with living in toxic soup, i figured these photos could help paint the picture.

what most people don’t understand is that mold/biotoxin illness is so much more than allergies. it’s a multi-system, multi-symptom condition driven by dysregulation of the immune system, that impacts virtually every system in the body…

neurological — brain fog, slowed thinking, mood swings, chronic fatigue, neuropathy, headaches & migraines, slurred speech, word recall problems, vertigo, ear ringing etc.

nervous system — light sensitivity, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, insomnia etc.

liver & kidneys — frequent urination, constant thirst, blood sugar dysregulation, eye blurring, chemical sensitivity etc.

digestive — nausea & vomiting, diarrhea, malabsorption, consitipation, chronic bloating, SIBO, undigested food in stool etc.

musculoskeletal — chronic pain, exercise intolerance, poor muscle stamina etc.

immune — chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, food sensitivities, lymph swelling, mast cell / histamine reactions, greater susceptibility to other viruses & infections etc.

endocrine — irregular periods, reproductive issues, insulin resistance, adrenal fatigue, low thyroid, weight issues etc.

cardiovascular — easy bruising, protruding veins on skin, palpitations, arrhythmias, POTS-type symptoms etc.

respiratory — coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness etc.

i could go on…

mold illness is something that can never be remotely understood, or even described, to those who haven’t experienced it. but without it, i wouldn’t be doing the work that i am today.

i NEVER would’ve imagined turning my pain into purpose by becoming an integrative health practitioner, but i’m incredibly grateful that i now get to use what i’ve learned, both personally & professionally, to help others feel less lost, overwhelmed & alone in their own healing journeys.

so if you’re currently going through it, i see you & deeeeeeply understand your pain. learn more about my work on my website

Last Monday night was a very meaningful one. I joined @globallymealliance for their annual gala to share my own story about my battle with Lyme disease, and to sing a favorite song.

Global Lyme Alliance is a leading force in Lyme disease research, resources and patient advocacy—giving new hope to patients whose hope is running low. It’s an honor to partner with them. 💚 🧪🦠

The 2026 @globallymealliance Gala brought the Lyme disease community together in New York City for a powerful night focused on research, patient support, advocacy, awareness, and hope. 💚

@erichbergen hosted the Gala, @rosannascotto served as honorary chairwoman, @chris_meloni supported the mission on stage, @christinarmaxwell performed, and @lorigreinershark presented @bugbitething founder @kelleyhigneyceo with the Community Impact Award.

Beyond the formal program, the night was about connection — patients, advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, families, and supporters coming together around a shared mission.

It was also great connecting with so many others throughout the evening, including @holisticumbrella, @christina_kovs, @tickdontkillmyvibe, @hannahspires1, @strwberryshortkke, @monicaaene, @whitmanswarriors, @carasalzone_, @mcbradshaw, @centerforlymeaction, Dr. Ecaterina Komarnitsky of @morrisonhealth, @dylan_dinolfo, @powerangergreg, and many more helping move the Lyme community forward.

One message displayed throughout the evening captured the goal perfectly:

“A Lyme-Free World Within Reach.”

Getting there will take continued research, better diagnostics, improved treatments, stronger prevention, knowledgeable healthcare professionals, patient voices being heard, and organizations willing to work together.

It also takes community.

People living with Lyme and tick-borne disease deserve validation, better answers, support, and hope.
