I stepped out of my car after parking in my parents’ driveway, and as I always do, I immediately looked to my left toward my grandparents’ house. And in that moment, I captured this ❤️

There’s a feeling I’ll never be able to fully explain when I drive down our road and see my parents’ and grandparents’ homes come into view. It’s the biggest sigh of relief and the kind of peace that instantly puts a smile on my face.

No matter how old I get, the moment I pull into this driveway, I become that little girl again. The little girl who ran through this yard, went from house to house every single day, and never had to be anything other than herself.

This is my family’s land. Our roots run deep here, and our memories are embedded in every inch of this soil. If you listen closely enough, I promise you can still hear the laughter of me and my sister blowing through the wind. And sometimes, I swear I can still hear my Granny calling out for my Papa or my Uncle to come in for dinner❤️

And when I open that door and hear my Daddy welcome me home, or when my Mama walks me to the porch before I leave, I’m reminded just how incredibly blessed I am.

There’s something so special about having a place where you’re always loved, always welcomed, and always free to be your fullest self. A place that holds every version of you, especially the little girl you used to be.

I’m so grateful I captured this moment because sometimes words just aren’t enough to express how much this family, this land, and these memories mean to me.

But somehow, this picture says it all.

This is where my roots are planted, where my heart finds rest, and where I will always belong. This will forever be HOME. ❤️🏡

Yesterday my Granny, Mrs. Mandy Moss, left this world and entered heaven. In the midst of heartbreak, I rejoice! She has received her reward. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you knew my Granny, you know that she was a General in the Kingdom. She helped changed the lives of many by teaching and living out the Word of God. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I can only imagine her excitement entering heaven seeing Jesus, family and friends, and biblical characters she studied. I know she’s leading a Bible Study right now 😉 ⁣⁣

Mandy Moss was an extraordinary woman whose memory will live on, and whose legacy my family and I are happy to keep alive. ⁣⁣

The days are long, but the years are way too short 😩⁣

It seems like only yesterday Angelena was in elementary school, and now she’s a high school Sophomore.⁣
⁣
She’s the strongest girl I know. Adapting to change and another new school, yet again, in the name of pursuing the BEST education to fit her academic goals. (I’ll share this story at another time). ⁣
⁣
Brandon and I couldn’t be prouder of the young woman we dropped off at a new school this morning, that had over 1,200 more students than her former school had, and not an ounce of doubt in sight. ⁣

As always I pray, may she be protected at all cost, educated at the highest level, and lovingly instructed. I wish the same for your babies🙏🏾♥️⁣

June was the month of celebrations!

We celebrated at concerts, my baby’s 8th grade graduation, Juneteenth, Father’s Day, my trip around the sun, and my Granny’s 90th birthday. We had a time, didn’t we?!?

My Granny is famous for her homemade biscuits. No measurements. No written recipe. Just decades and decades of love poured into her food. And at 90 years of age we are beyond blessed to have her stand in our kitchen and cook us a meal filled with love. To God be the Glory!
