Some of our wed-DIYs

1a. handkerchiefs - for us, our parents and grandparents using linen remnants from @merchantandmills w/ matching thread.

1b. It took many trials to get the scalloping edges neat but in the end they were good enough 🫣

1c. @duthchas.designs spent a lot of time and effort adding the embroidery 🥹

2a. Fabric signs - I bought a cotton offcut from vinted and made 3 signs. 1 to honour loved ones who couldn’t be with us in person…

2b. A big one with our names, wedding date and words in my mother tongue..

2c. And one for the seating chart. I used @posca_uk pens to fill in the tracings.

3a. Foliage/florals - mix of dried and fresh. More details of set up in next slides. It’s true what they say, it really does take a village!

3b. Our fams helped us prep the venue AND prep for the post-wedding feast. The love and care we felt from the weekend was indescribable!

3c. Collected flowers to dry in advance w/ help from my mum in law & friends. Stored in a childhood bedroom 🥲

3d. A lot of the fresh foliage were kindly sourced by Neil and his team who just happened to be shredding plants they’d pruned outside my work a few weeks before our wedding. My dad in law came to collect them in his van 😭

4. Ceremony drape - guess our favourite colour 🫣 I selected specific shades of green in varying fabric/textures which matched my ma’s bolero/attire, the thread used for the handkerchiefs and the fabric of my wedding bag.
DIY wedding cake deets are in a separate post.

5. Seating plan was inspired by many pics on Pinterest which just made sense! Plants were prepped by dad in law and you can see the many hands that worked on the display in slide 3b. Papers were held by forks from the charity shop. Seating chart names were written by a friend.

6. We used paper that @angelalannah888 made for placecards, table numbers & seating plans. @duthchas.designs designed and laser cut the sun+thistle to represent🇵🇭🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. He also cut the wooden paper holders.

I bought a dress on vinted and got it made into a special version of my dream one 🥹 with removable terno sleeves 🇵🇭 & straps.

I couldn’t find the matching shade of crinkle fabric so I experimented and crinkled plain chiffon myself. I wanted it to be used for the over-skirt, the bodice, terno sleeves and straps. @tailliuir.studio really came through and worked so hard to execute the vision. I think a lot of people would find me a nightmare to work with but she never made me feel that way!

And to add more textures to the Filipiniana 😌, I commissioned the talented @day1palang to make another layer to surprise @duthchas.designs at our evening reception. I found remnant tartan that matched his kilt on eBay and mixed this with other fabrics. Just one of the several ways we celebrated our heritage/traditional attires on the day 💘

The whole process wasn’t without stress but so worth it in the end!

Special shoutout to @glorymakes for making my wedding bag! I told myself I’d be able to make my own (lol) but somehow Gloria landed in my life AND she so generously gifted me a beautiful keepsake 💚

My first attempt at tiered cakes for our wedding 🍰 inspired by my ma!
One of the many wed-DIYs. I baked 4 cakes with 3 different flavours for the wedding day and the post-wedding feast.
I figured I’d practised enough over the years 🫣 so I was determined!

Baked & decorated at home then assembled at the venue the night before 🙃 (video clip by my cousin 🙏🏽)

For the tiered cakes decor, I’d originally planned to do some fun piping but quickly changed my mind and thought plain with some texture would be more achievable. The sheet cake was the last cake I decorated so I piped the excess icing.
As always, learned some lessons throughout but gave it my best!

Top cake: vanilla chiffon, roasted strawb + cream cheese frosting, roasted strawb purée & Italian meringue browned buttercream

Middle cake (& sheet cake): vanilla chiffon, bram apple + cream cheese frosting, bramley apple jam, whipped salted caramel & Italian meringue browned buttercream

Bottom cake: ube chiffon, ube cream cheese frosting, alphonso mango pieces & Italian meringue browned buttercream

As a water sign, I’m naturally drawn to water.
I love wild rivers, lakes, oceans and seas. I love the sound of crashing waves and the humming of waterfalls.
If I need to get grounded I seek the presence of this wonderful element. It always fixes me!
This deep love and appreciation are also present in my design practice, I frequently paint with hues of blue and many of my pieces make you think of tropical islands, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.
Just like this easy-to-wear linen SO KLARA jacket. 💙🌊
Now, if I can't go to the beach I can just put the jacket on and feel instantly better.
PS: These shots were not taken in the Caribbean but the beautifully mystical Scotland! ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Psst! I’ve been flirting with the idea to create a range of eye-catching garments made from pure linen using my uplifting and fun patterns.
And maybe baby this creative dream is now materialising itself.
What can I say? Good things take time but I’m super excited.
