![“A lot of my work does not start from comfort. It starts from tension, anger, regret, memory, frustration, contradiction, and the things that stay with you longer than they should. Sometimes the idea comes first. Sometimes the feeling does. But the work usually gets better when I stop trying to make it clean and let it be real.
That is why process matters to me. The final piece is one part of it, but what it took to get there is where most of the art lives.”

![Figures, or designer toys, have always held a unique place in the fashion world when it comes to taste. They sit at the intersection of art, branding, and personal identity, often acting as small but powerful extensions of someone’s aesthetic. And very few are doing them as well as Glvssic.
What sets @glvssic apart is his point of view. Many of the figures we’re familiar with, like Bearbrick, have lost some of the appeal they once held as symbols of status. At a certain point, they stop saying anything, and the fixed form factor only allows for so much expression. What feels more interesting now is perspective.
Each figure is steeped in references, whether it’s nods to high fashion, like Rick Owens Geodunks appearing on one piece, or entire works built around reinterpreted scenes from films. The references are layered and intentional, reworked into something that feels fresh.
These figures offer a glimpse into Glvssic’s mind and influences, but they also function as cultural snapshots of the moment. Not everyone is going to combine a Three 6 Mafia reference with a Balenciaga reference in a single piece, and that willingness to collide worlds is exactly what makes his work stand out.
[A huge thank you to Glvssic for sharing these behind the scenes moments with us. Many of the photos above have never been seen before, and we’re excited to be able to share them with you.]
