My heart. I met Giuliana 14 years ago when her big sister Sophia was battling leukemia. Their family has endured far too much during Sophia’s battle, when she passed away and the heavy grief. I have always truly believed the entire family is facing childhood cancer just as strong, yet in different ways.

As Giuliana has grown into such a caring young lady in her first year of college at William Paterson University, she brought childhood cancer awareness with her. Last Wednesday evening, her field hockey team hosted a go gold game to raise much needed awareness and funding. I became very emotional when I heard them talk about Kisses for Kyle and my sweet Kyle while honoring Giul’s heart & her beloved sister Sophia who is greatly missed. I’m also so appreciative for Lisa & Daniel to be there as a Kisses for Kyle family in representation & support. It equally warmed my heart to hear Pete & Kelly were there to cheer on Giuliana & her team while going gold. Many emotions taking place! 🏑 💛🐞🎗️🧡🩷 #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #kissesforkyle #williampatersonuniversity #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

5th year hosting a student from another country. 1st year being the local coordinator (with Giuliana as my co-coordinator). 🥰

It’s incredible how complete strangers can become such an important part of your life in just a few weeks. Every hug, every tear, and every promise to visit again is proof that love doesn’t need years to grow.

They came to us as exchange students, but they left us as family. 🥹

10/10 would recommend this experience to every human.

Happy Birthday, Giuliana Marie. 💐🫶🏻

There are some people who come into your life and change it forever. You are one of mine.

I love you more than words could ever explain. Raising you alongside Daddy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life, and I will never stop being grateful that I get to call you my daughter.

This past year has been incredible to watch. You headed off to college, absolutely crushed your first year with straight A’s, and came home with even more confidence, kindness, and determination than when you left. We couldn’t be more proud of you.

Now you’re home for the summer, and getting to work alongside you while we co-coordinate the Spanish exchange program has been such a gift. Watching you step into leadership, connect with people so effortlessly, and pour your heart into everything you do reminds me every day of just how special you are. You have a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and loved, and that’s something that can’t be taught.

I love watching you glow. I love watching you chase your dreams, work hard, laugh big, and become the amazing woman you were always meant to be. Your future is so bright, and I cannot wait to see where this next year takes you.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.

Thank you for being exactly who you are.

Happy Birthday, my girl. I hope this year brings you every blessing, every adventure, and every dream your heart is chasing. I will always be your biggest fan.

I love you more than you could ever imagine. 💜
