What does an office for people who make content all day actually need?

At Edelman’s New York headquarters, one answer is an entire production floor.

Editing suites sit alongside flexible workspaces, a central café, client areas and a tech-enabled rooftop, all inside a former printing warehouse shaped by references to New York lofts and its subway network.

The interesting part isn’t just how it looks. It’s how closely the workplace follows what the people inside actually do.

Go inside Edelman’s five-floor New York HQ on Love That Design.

Don't miss @yalepeabodymuseum to be featured on @bydesigntv on September 26, 2026 at 9pm EDT on @cbstv !

The Yale Peabody Museum’s transformation was a full renovation honoring its legacy and embracing the future. R&P were the exhibit designers, reshaping the visitor experience and working alongside a talented team including @centerbrook_architects @gmsllp @ewingcole @lightswitchdesign @kubikmaltbie + many more.

With 40,000+ sf and 23 galleries, the design invites exploration and discovery where collections are dynamically presented, celebrating the museum’s vast holdings and sparking curiosity. Our design vision was to create an environment that facilitates flashpoint experiences and establishes a community of learners who advance knowledge together. The galleries foster connections among students, faculty, visitors and the community. Flexible and forward-looking, the design welcomes evolving ideas.

We're immensely honored and proud to have worked on this remarkable project. Thank you @yalepeabodymuseum !

Transitions between rooms can be captivating in unexpected ways. Here, the views through to the landscape frame the passage into a bedroom… a way to create calm and warmth simultaneously with light, views and materials.

Highlighting a detail where form, materials, and sustainability merge…
The carport provides a protected place to enter the home. Corrugated aluminum and Radiata Pine provide durability and subtle textural movement with light.
The sloped roof extends out, culminating in a wide scupper that directs storm water to a gravel bed and drywell below. Water dissipates from the drywell to nearby rain gardens that serve as habitats for wildlife and pollinators.
Holistic design, captured in a moment at the Chatham Residence…

Some projects show just how far steel goes beyond the frame.

For this Forest Edge home, Tebbens Steel supplied and installed the full structural steel package — wide flange beams, HSS columns, and braced frames engineered to handle coastal wind and snow loads — along with a long list of custom architectural steel: a fireplace and hearth, areaway grating, a steel stair with glass railing, a channel-built stair, rainscreen support at the family room and second floor, stainless embed angle, and pocket door angles.

Moment connections tie the steel frame together at key points throughout the house, giving it the strength to stand up to the elements while still leaving room for the open, glassy architecture this home is known for. Seeing it go from framed steel to finished architecture is always one of our favorite parts of the process.

The Chatham Pond Pavilion offers respite along the water’s edge after a long hike. Sunlight moves across the circular intersecting forms, creating graphic shadow patterns below. (A solar powered ceiling fan cools the viewing platform and keeps mosquitos at bay in the evenings.)

We are grateful to our collaborators for bringing this design to life:

And to @paul_warchol for his nuanced photography.

Green roof projects demand more than good design. They require the right materials, details, and installation support from the start.

From soil depth and drainage to planting zones, irrigation, and long term performance, every layer has a purpose.

Permaloc edging systems help organize and define these spaces while supporting the technical demands of rooftop applications.

For #designers, #specifiers, and #contractors, the right edge is not an afterthought. It is part of a system built to perform.

Let’s connect today, Permaloc.com!

Swipe to see a concept model transformed into reality:

Corrugated metal siding is the main sheathing at the Chatham House, which appears as a continuous ripple that traces the curved roof shapes. We decided on corrugated metal for its duality- a rugged material frequently used in contemporary farm buildings, as well as an elegant surface that captures light with minimalist precision.

Plain-sawn accoya wood accents the corrugated metal details at the covered outdoor seating areas and the underside of the overhangs. We used the highly textured material to define interior passageways and the primary bedroom, too.

Grateful to our amazing clients for taking this journey with us to realize their new home!
