Tết Trung Thu 2026 is almost here! What is it? 🤔

Tết Trung Thu is the 2nd most important holiday after Tết (Lunar New Year Celebrations)! Known as the Children's Festival, it features colorful lantern parades, lion dances, eating mooncakes (bánh trung thu), and gathering under the brightest full moon.

🥮 Celebrating the Children: Because parents spent months working long, demanding hours in the rice fields during the harvest, Tết Trung Thu was originally created to make up for lost time and celebrate their children.

🥮 Family Reunion and Togetherness: It is a time for families to gather, express gratitude for a bountiful harvest, honor ancestors, and bond over a shared feast while celebrating the full moon.

🏮🏮🏮 Free admission!! Kids under 12 receive free lanterns! Amazing cultural show! Don't forget the phenomenal lion dance & áo-dài (ow-zai) contest for kids of all ages!! 🧧🐉🧧

And that’s a wrap on culture show season!

GWU VSA can’t thank everyone enough for showing up and supporting our production ♡ Our members worked incredibly hard to bring Crazy Rich Viets to life, and it meant so much to share that with all of you.

We couldn’t have done this without SEANET, who sent members to support our acting scenes, or District K and our senior advisor An for their amazing performances! Thank you to Casden for capturing the night, and to everyone from MAUVSA who traveled to make our show feel even more special.

We’re so grateful for all the love, from our performers and crew to everyone in the audience.

Until next year… 👀

On March 25, 2026, we were invited by the Asian Pacific American Network (APANET) to table at their Lunar New Year celebration at the United States Patent & Trademark Office in Alexandria, VA.

We shared stories of Asian American inventors whose patented work shows up in everyday life. It felt especially meaningful to bring these stories into the very place where innovation is recognized and protected.

Many of the inventors we featured built their lives and careers in the United States. Their work reflects how people from many backgrounds have contributed to American innovation.

We’re grateful to APANET, one of the largest federal employee affinity groups supporting Asian American and Pacific Islander employees, for the opportunity to share this with USPTO staff and leadership.
