Portraits of Guggenheim award-winning artists @saylermorris, my talented friends, collaborators, and mentors.

They collaborated with @christinamseely on a new book ‘museum’, coming out with @gnomicbook @lightwork this fall. I hosted them for an artist talk and Kickstarter campaign kickoff at Photo Buddies salon last month, where they led a dynamic conversation about what it means to engage critically with institutions, archives, and considerations of deep time. We packed the house (60 people in my living room!) for a banger of an artist gathering, and I can’t recommend this work highly enough. They’re incredibly smart and so is the book - pre-order your copy or get a discounted print from their campaign before it ends tomorrow morning.

They were my professors while I was getting my MFA at @syracuse.photo, and I joined their @ecotoolshed project to get an up-close look at artists merging theory, research, and visual practice to extend their work into communities through programming, non-profits, editorial content, and a variety of creative engagements. We’ve worked on other projects since, and they’re the fiscal sponsor of my project @goldenkinstudio. I’m grateful for their support over the past five years - to have models for how to build an alternative life as an artist is invaluable. This is what artistic community is all about. Support them if you can.
