I was so grateful and honored to give the opening speech at the silent book exhibition 'Picture tales - the story within you" at @deak17galeria in Budapest ❤️

The curator of the exhibition is the amazing @zsuzsannablaschke from @weeskinders_publishing - a silent book publishing company. She has done such an impressive job with the collection of both local and international silent book artists 💯💯

She also presented the winners of the Weeskinders silent book contest - I will present these - and the wonderful work Zsuzsanna and Weeskinders do for silent books - in separate posts 🥰

@deak17galeria is a beautiful space, the perfect frame for this exhibition. It runs to November 7th, don't miss it if you are in Budapest, it is right on one of the main streets.

From the bottom of my heart, a great big THANK YOU, KOSONOM, TAKK to everyone I met: Weeskinders, Deak17, the library and all the talented artists 🙏❤️ This fact that this silent book community exists and thrives makes my heart sing!

Today was the last day of the @royalacademyarts summer exhibition!

It’s been an amazing experience taking part! Thanks to everyone who went to see it, have tagged me and of course to everyone who bought it 😊
I never expected it to sell out -and especially so quickly, but I’m so happy that it resonated with so many people! I think I actually managed to impress my boys 😉
Thanks so much to @katherinejones_pp for selecting it for her beautifully curated room 🙏

It’s been a busy couple of months of signing and wrapping prints! 😁🎉

Thanks! x

What’s going on?

@gnosspelius has illustrated the cover of the ‘What’s Going On?’ quarterly newspaper that’s what. And doesn’t it look fab!!??

Thanks to @bankofdreamsandnightmares for the brilliantly fun commission and the excellent broadsheet - did you know it’s the only newspaper written by kids for kids?

You can see inside the paper and subscribe to receive a copy for your school / home / treehouse by copying and pasting this link:

You’ve got 6 weeks left to pay the 2026 Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy a visit… 100/10 would recommend. I thoroughly approved of all the cats 🐱 and would have bought Steven P Smith’s ‘Quiet Communion’ (dippy eggs - pic no.14) if someone hadn’t got there first!

Every artist starts somewhere, and throughout its history Urban Art has helped introduce visitors to exciting new creative talent. Many artists who first exhibited here as emerging practitioners have gone on to establish successful careers, build loyal collector bases and develop thriving artistic practices. https://www.urbanart.co.uk/discover-new-artists-2/

There are many ways to experience art, but few are as enjoyable as discovering it outdoors on a summer’s day. https://www.urbanart.co.uk/art-in-the-open-air/
