MEMORY LANE 😤✊🏽 | Bringing it full circle. 🙌🏽

From touring and training with @stepafrika to now welcoming them home to Wilmington as headliners of the Cityfest Dance Jubilee, it’s hard to put into words how much this moment means.

This company played a big role in shaping my artistry, discipline, and vision as a performer. And now, as curator and artistic director, I get to share that creativity with my hometown ✊🏽.

Here are just SOME moments of my journey with Step Afrika and the legacy they carry.

This week, Wilmington gets to experience the power of stepping and culture on an another level! 😤🔥👣 @cityfestwilmde @urban_artist_exchange

“Thinking of our friends and partners, but especially the children, of Ukraine. Step Afrika! toured this beautiful country a few years ago and the experience was absolutely incredible. I immediately fell in love with the artists, the culture and innovative arts scene we found across the country. Sending prayers for the safety of the Ukrainian people.”

DID YOU KNOW? Every year, Step Afrika!’s artists engage thousands of students at small rural colleges and large state universities in the African American tradition of stepping. The Company’s College Tour performances engage the next generation of college students in the practice of stepping and enrich the cultural life of American communities on and off campus.
