Spilling the Tea on Sustainability is the best way to start Climate Week NYC ✨☕️🫖

I was delighted to moderate a conversation with Carrie Ruddy, SVP & Chief Communications Officer at @tranetechnologies, Alice Ashpitel, Head of Sustainability at @mercedesamgf1, and Daniella Foster, SVP and Global Head of Public Affairs at @bayerofficial. The topic: leadership in an era of competing priorities there is a lot of tea to spill on this topic.

This year, @goalshouse played host to our tea party, sourcing gorgeous vintage teaware, crafting a beautiful butterfly pea flower mocktail, and bringing the signature splendor and thoughtful touches they’re so well known for.

Il y a 2 semaines j’ai participé à la 81 ème assemblée générale des Nations Unies a New York et on m’y a posé la question « quelles sont les barrières à la participation politique des jeunes femmes ? »
En parallèle du plus grand mouvement social porté par la jeunesse de ma génération .

Ce que j’ai répondu à cette question a New York est la réponse que les jeunes scandent dans les rues de la France hexagonale et de celle d’ « outre-mer »
La participation politique - c’est quelque chose que les jeunes maîtrisent.

Les barrières ce sont :
* l’élitisme qui restreint la participation politique pour les jeunes racisés, marginalisés …
* la non prise en compte des nouvelles formes de participation politique - mobilisation en ligne, manifestations, boycotts .. ,
* le manque de protection face à la violence physique, sexiste et sexuelle qui s’exerce sur nous lorsque que l’on décide de s’exprimer
* le manque de ressources et de financement - we cannot pour from an empty cup

This Climate Week felt different.

After years of advocating for youth movements and youth-serving organizations, our team arrived with a community of our own and familiar faces everywhere.

We came representing the 21,000+ young people who have signed up for Climate Cardinals programs since 2020, and the broader interests of the world’s majority: people under 30.

The world has many of the solutions it needs to address the climate crisis. The challenge is financing and scaling them, investing in adaptation, and directing more resources to communities across the Global South and ensuring a just transition that doesn’t replicate current and past inequities.

The crisis in Nepal reminds us what’s at stake. Every delay means more displacement, damaged homes, and lost lives and livelihoods. But our choices also shape the world we build together: one where we know our neighbors, human and otherwise, and live in relationship with cardinals, hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, and the trees that shelter us.

These past few years haven’t always felt like a time of momentum. But this is when we build the relationships and infrastructure needed to turn our vision for a better world into action.

That’s why Climate Cardinals has spent the past years standardizing our programs and building an institution capable of carrying forward part of the vision of the late-2010s youth climate movement.

The challenge is not simply to mobilize a generation, but to translate its demands into lasting change.

This is the time to come together, build trust and strong institutions with the capacity to implement, and cultivate a genuine love for one another, so that when the moment comes to act, we’re ready to rise to the challenge and deliver climate resilience for all.

Part 2 of late photo dump behind scenes of a high protein, heavily caffeinated week of diplomacy in New York - speeches, negotiations, shuttle diplomacy with Heads of State, Ministers, partners, media, NGOs humanitarian family and much more.

AI, climate, drones, reform, protecting humanitarians, and diplomacy to access those most in need. Not to be measured in numbers of speeches and meetings (100+) but concrete results. Will go through those outcomes in the next Humanifesto.

During the 2026 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) a few weeks ago, I moderated two private sessions & featured on one panel, all on significant and timely, global public health opportunities and challenges. Deep appreciation to @goalshouse , @gatesfoundation , @novartis , and @sciencesummit for your thoughtful invitations to generate much needed conversations. Each was such a rich space to share with stakeholders who are truly driving and sustaining public health impact. I salute each of you.

Here are my UNGA highlights on Women’s Health—namely Maternal Health— on AI in Healthcare, and on Community Health.

Thank you to all the new friends and connections we made at the 81st UN General Assembly 🇺🇳

Over the week we had countless meetings, conversations, and engagements. We look forward to turning the dialogue had in New York into action in Abu Dhabi, as we head towards the 2026 UN Water Conference December.

September in NYC! So many familiar faces and new ones in town for UNGA, Climate Week and everything in between. Always good to catch up in person. So much of building partnerships and getting things done starts with those real connections. 🌅

The past two weeks have been absolutely crazy! 🤩

Started in Boston, interviewed a Nobel Prize laureate, then went to New York with @youtube for @unitednations . Interviewed Google’s Head of Technology, attended the @goalkeepers event, and spoke at @goalshouse !!!

Thank you, @aliciatti and Jennifer Clark for making it happen!!

Then straight to @meta Connect, followed by a podcast with Greg Brockman at @openai , then @bchesky , and OpenAI Dev Day.

Also judged a hackathon at @google with @ruthapp.ai and @valeriechapman ❤️
