Your first language isn't English. That doesn't close the door.

FLRI is the Army's Foreign Language Recruiting Initiative: enlist, train your English first, then pick your job and ship to Basic.

Send this to someone who needs to see it.

*Eligibility varies

Today, I arrived at Fort Benning to begin Officer Candidate School and the next chapter of my Army career.

Before moving forward, I wanted to reflect on the last 7 years serving in USARD—a chapter that shaped me both personally and professionally.

I started as a recruiter and eventually had the privilege of serving as a Station Commander. Along the way, I was fortunate to consistently perform as a top recruiter and earn some of the highest recognitions in the recruiting environment, including the Gold Recruiter Badge, Recruiter Ring, and Glenn E. Morrell Medallion.

I’m proud of those accomplishments, but what means the most to me are the people and experiences behind them.

My time in Greece especially reminded me what a team can accomplish when people believe in each other.

When I arrived, the station had struggled for years. Together, we changed that.

In our first month, we met and exceeded mission for the first time in 16 months.

By our first quarter, we did it again—meeting and exceeding mission for the first time in five years.

Two years later as a team, we closed our annual mission two months early and continued to exceed our annual mission—a milestone the station hadn't accomplished in 12 years.

But those accomplishments were never mine alone.

They belonged to the team.

To my team, and to all the leaders and teammates I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside over these seven years—thank you. Thank you for your trust, support, mentorship, and for always stepping up when it mattered. I’m grateful for every lesson, challenge, and opportunity to lead alongside you.

Looking back, I’ll remember far more than missions, awards, and numbers.

I’ll remember the people who trusted me, challenged me, invested in me, and gave their best every day.

Recruiting gave me the opportunity to lead, but it also taught me how to become a better leader.

It taught me empathy, accountability, resilience, and the importance of developing the people around me.

I’m grateful for every assignment, every challenge, every success, and every person who helped shape this chapter.

Seven years in USARD. One chapter completed. Another begins.
