Stop Chasing Perfection, Embrace Your True Self! ✨

“It’s not perfect, but it’s ME. And that’s all you can be is YOU.” 💯

This hit DEEP during our convo with @goddamngabi 🎙️

@iamstevenstrickland got a little emotional here because this is how REAL it gets for us creatives sometimes. When you realize you’ve been chasing something that doesn’t even exist… it hits different 💔

As creatives, we’re always chasing that “perfect” shot, edit, performance… but here’s the real tea: you can’t learn from perfection.

Your “flaws” = Your superpowers 🔥
Your struggles = Your story
Your authenticity = What the world NEEDS

The industry will have you thinking anything less than perfect isn’t enough. But your unique perspective, your messy process, your real voice - THAT’S the magic ✨

We ALL feel this struggle. You’re not alone in it 🤝

🛑 Stop trying to be perfect.
💚Start being YOU.
That’s what we all want to see anyway 👀

What’s one “imperfect” thing about your creative process that you’ve learned to love?

The industry — and the world — is changing fast. The question is:
Will you evolve with it, or get left behind?

💻 AI is here. Adobe’s using it. Avid is embracing it. And it’s only expanding. But this isn’t the time to panic — it’s time to pivot.

The future doesn’t mean we’re being replaced. It means we’re being challenged to grow, to adapt, and to find new ways to bring our human touch to the craft.

🔥 “It’s kind of always gonna be there, but knowing how to use it, knowing how to make sure that you’re still an asset to any team is always important.”

Keep learning. Stay curious. Evolve with the times — and your value won’t just remain, it’ll multiply.

Creating stories on set is powerful — but creating a safe environment while doing it is non-negotiable.

🛑 Whether you’re on a film set, in an office, or anywhere in between — safety, respect, and protection must be the priority. Especially when it comes to women and children.

Too often, people in power fail to create an environment where others feel protected — and the impact can last a lifetime.

📢 “I think it was definitely an important conversation that a lot of people should have — not just in the industry, but in any type of job. How children are handled, or anyone is handled in these environments.”

This isn’t just a Hollywood issue. This is a human issue. Let’s keep the conversations going, make accountability the norm, and protect the vulnerable at all costs.
