Don’t even really know what to say.

This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.

Not just because it’s 21.1km.
But because of everything around it.

A week before this race, my dad passed away. Honestly it’s felt really weird because I haven’t been able to grieve properly. Standing on that start line felt weird. Part of me didn’t care about the race anymore. But something in me said finish what you started.

So I did.

From birth my mum was told I’d have asthma for the rest of my life. That I’d never be able to breathe properly. Doctors told me I had arthritis in my right knee, at my age. If you told me two years ago I’d be running a half marathon, I would’ve called you a LIAR.

And yet here we are.

This is the first time in my life I’ve actually been in proper shape. The first time I’ve trained consistently. The first time I’ve pushed myself to do something genuinely hard and didn’t quit when it got uncomfortable.

I’m proud of myself. Proper proud. And I don’t say that often.

Big love to my boy @_manueltrin . If it wasn’t for you, I never would’ve started running. We started this together😤

And to my guys who kept pushing me through the whole training block you know who you are. I appreciate you.

This one meant more than a medal.

It meant proving to myself that no matter what hits me, grief, doubt, pain, whatever I can still poooooshhh.

That’s it.
