DREAM TEAM IS BACK!

Been reflecting a lot lately. I miss being creative and building weird things with friends. The Final Straw was pretty insane but I am so damn proud of what we made.

The numbers are rusty in my head but the show had something like 16 towers, 6-8 shelves of props, 6-8 props per shelf (including back ups)= somewhere around 800 custom made props. All of them had to be load-bearing and the same height because the towers were free standing; also light and safe enough to fall on people just in case they didn’t clear the falling zone.

Under 1 prop master, myself and 3 other leads had mini teams (prop people, construction and painters) to create 4 towers each. Our crew was filled with so much talent, creativity and out of the box thinkers, it was amazing.

It was a crazy job but good god it was fun. I miss the whole crew, I hope they’re all staying creative and fulfilled during these stagnant times in our industry and I hope this strike brings good change for us all❤️ in solidarity, a union prop chick that misses the craziness.

P.S. the giant cherry in the video was a paid actor 😂

Another episode of The Final Straw drops tonight. I wanted to make a post to honor some of the sweetest, kindest, and talented prop people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working along side. I’m so grateful to have met y’all. I was stressed up the wall on this project but these fine people made it bearable and even fun when I could get my head out of my work ass 😂 I love you guys oodles. Still hoping we can get together soon to (re)watch some episodes and speak passionately about our experiences on this one together ❤️ ps: I don’t have photos of everyone… I’m terrible at that, especially on this job. Love y’all ❤️

Yesterday was the premiere of The Final Straw! The insanely crazy fun game show I got to work on with some really fun people. Now I can finally post behind the scenes of the crazy props we made, and the silliness behind it all 😁
Show your support and check it out on ABC or streaming on Hulu! 😊

2020 was the dumpster fire crescendo of the decade 🔥
.
So much happened in the last 10 years (including but not limited to, caveman parties, making good and bad movies, Emmy awards) but the memories that stand out the most are the ones shared with my friends on set. 2020 has reminded me of how much I miss making films with my friends. 🤗🎥How much I miss collaborating with people who make me smile. A new decade of storytelling awaits. I love you guys and gals.

I’ll start my story with the fact that I’ve been waiting for THIS moment for 8 years!!! Yeah, it’s been a long way, and today I’m finally ready to invite you to the mysterious magic world that sparked into existence one lonely January night in a cold apartment in the middle of Siberian “nowhere”. Today I’m inviting you on the journey through the series of twisted Underworlds, The Upside Down or, if you will, The Other Side. Let’s travel back to 1837 Victorian England. You’re taking your watch out of the pocket - it’s 5 minutes to the right time! You’re taking a red velvet seat in a beautiful candle lit theatre and getting ready for a long-awaited show. The lights are dimming slowly, the music is starting to play and the curtains are finally opening….
“That’s The Way You’re Giving Up” marks the first track of my original concept album that will take you on a journey where you will witness the adventures of a young girl from 1837 making her way through the dark corners of the mysterious Underworld after a series of tragic events in her late life.
