It’s beginning to feel like fall… and a little more like home. 🍂🎃

Two years since leaving California, and our little neighborhood is becoming something so special to us. The homesickness still sneaks in sometimes, but days like this, with pumpkin patches, friends, our kids making memories, and friendships growing deeper, remind me how much love we’re surrounded by.

So grateful for this group of girls and the little community we’re building together. California will always have a piece of my heart, but we’re putting down roots here, too. 🤎

One of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make is who you choose to do life with.

Because life isn’t always going to be 50/50.

There will be seasons when you’re mentally, physically, or emotionally exhausted and you simply don’t have your half to give. And the right partner doesn’t make you feel guilty for it. They don’t keep score or make an already difficult season harder.

They simply say, “Do what you need to do. I’ve got us.”

This week has been one of those weeks for me.

RC has rearranged his own life, held everything down, taken care of what needed to be taken care of, and given me the space to be there for my family without ever making me feel like I was asking too much.

And it reminded me that the person you choose doesn’t just affect your relationship. They affect your peace, your children, your family, and how you’re able to move through some of the hardest seasons of your life.

Sometimes we move together. Sometimes we have to divide and conquer. But knowing I have someone beside me who will carry more when I have less to give is something I’ll never take for granted.

The right partner doesn’t keep score. They help carry the weight.

No matter what life brings, you always find a way to show up for us. I admire your heart, your patience, your drive, and the way you continue to grow through every season.

For some today is a different kind of celebration. The day isn’t met with joy & jubilation. It’s met with grief and sadness, not to those who find themselves in this position, I feel your pain. It isn’t easy by any stretch. So REMEMBER to hug your children and create core memories today AND EVERYDAY!

To those who still have your father present love on him LIKE NEVER BEFORE. You never know when it will be your last time to do so. You see I’ve lost 2 fathers. My biological father (Theryl Smith) when I was only 5yrs old & the man who raised me (Louis Mathews) at the age of 42. BOTH losses have been significant in my journey and I’ve learned so much from each them and the legacy they’ve let within me.

To the fathers out there doing what you know to provide. KEEP GOING I SEE YOU! You are loved, you are appreciated and you are worthy. God has called you for time such as this to be a light unto the world & the salt of the earth. Enjoy today & EVERYDAY that fatherhood brings to your soul. Remember…….
